I just joined RCI taking advantage of a two for one promo. I was told that it takes 6-8 weeks for WM to be verified as available to be used for an exchange. This info was given to me by a RCI supervisor.

Is this normal or is this a case of getting a clueless rep which was one of my reasons for cancelling RCI years ago. I joined RCI and it only took a day to be aggravated with them.

I called back and they said it should take a day or two. Same as II in the respect that you sometimes get a clueless rep.

RCI Promo?

Can you tell me what the 2 for 1 RCI promo is? I recently purchased a Worldmark membership and joined II on a 2 for 1 deal ($89 for 2 years) offered in the Worldmark Destinations magazine. I have been having a blast playing around with potential exchanges and just generally getting to know the timeshare universe as an owner and might like to do the same with RCI.

gmarine: Be aware: I used RCI to do a Wyndham Las Vegas exchange using my Worldmark credits and ended up having to pay an additional housekeeping fee of around $65. Called Worldmark and was told this is the RCI/Wyndham agreement when you use credits to go to Wyndham properties. Do not know if this happens with other RCI/Worldmark exchanges.

The promo was specific to a resort I own that just recently became affiliated with RCI. Most two for one offers are not available to all members.

They were not telling you the whole truth. The $65 goes to Worldmark, not RCI. All exchanges, RCI or II, use a HK token or fee. It's for cleaning the unit that Worldmark gives to RCI/II in exchange for the Wyndham unit that you got. Whenever you use Worldmark credits for a reservation/confirmation, there is a HK charge involved.

I've made several II exchanges using WM credits and have never been charged anything other than the normal II exchange fee. I assume you mean the charge is only if you exchange into a Wyndam property.
