Hi all-

I've found the Phoenix airport to be one of the most consumer unfriendly for those who need to rent a car and have a lot of bags. A few guys will be using the week this year and we all have luggage and golf clubs. It seems to make more sense and be a whole lot easier to take a cab or limo to the resort, play the Kierland course that day, and start my car rental the following day.

Has anyone had any experience using limo companies? Any recommendations? Any general idea about cost?

Thanks.

I believe I used Supershuttle last time and worked smoothly. Driver did show up 15 minutes early but no other problem

Towncar Service

There is a towncar service recommended by WKV/ Westin Kierland main resort, which we have used. The concierge could provide the number.

It was approx. $55 + tip per direction. We used it on one trip, and it was very reliable. The driver met us at baggage claim with a sign, and the vehicle was parked close by. One way, it was was a Suburban and the other way it was a Lincoln Towncar.

The net price was less than a weekly car rental, and saved 45-60 min. each way. You do trade more airport convenience for the loss of flexibility without a rental car.

thanks Lewis - that's pretty much what I wanted to hear.

In terms of flexibility, no problem. We'll have an easier time getting to the resort, play golf at the resort that day, and the car rental is already arranged for the next morning at the hotel.

Appreciate the help.

Phoenix airport

I'm sure your limo then rental car will work out well, but we found renting a vehicle at Phoenix simple even with bags and golf clubs. Shuttle bus and helpful drivers from the door of the baggage collection area and great service from the rental company with a cheap upgrade from my compact to an SUV.

My best car rental experiences again and again as I travel for business and pleasure are always at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. Easy, Easy, Easy and at least with Alamo, I pay for an Intermediate and always end up in a Luxury SUV or Crossover at no added expense. The whole, "Just hop in any car in you see," thing is really cool!
