I know this has been discussed in the past, but I couldn't find the thread.

Is the $10 fee optional? If paying online and we don't want to contribute to One Ohana do we pay the MF amount minus $10? Will that eventually clear?

That is the way I do it. $10 is optional. I pay the balance minus $10.

Thank you! So you pay it online and it eventually clears from your balance?

I have always paid online and my balance shows as $0. The system must figure it out on its own.

When did they start collecting a One Ohana fee? Given how crappily Maui council treats WKORV, I think it's ironic that they want to collect an Ohana fee. Who charges FAMILY for staying at their home?

Thanks. Went to pay final balance online and the screen says that if you dont pay it will be removed. So optional.

I am not sure what it is but given HGVC tacks on ARDA dues to bill, I am skeptical.

It appears that One Ohana is a Timeshare Owner PAC. So WKORV HOA implemented this as a voluntary opt-out expense to all owners. Interesting.

I googled it and checked out One Ohana's Facebook page. Its last post in FB was in 2016, in which they made recommendations for Maui Council. News articles mention that they spent $43k supporting 2 candidates in in 2016 and $6300 to S360..."for consulting on social and digital media strategy for candidates running for Maui County Council, mayor and a state House seat. The candidates included Mike Victorino, Stacy Crivello, Riki Hokama, Lynn DeCoite, Claire Carroll, Mike Molina, Yuki Lei Sugimura, Kelly King, Alice Lee, Tamara Paltin and Alan Arakawa.

The group, formerly known as the Maui Timeshare Ohana Political Action Committee, is chaired by Mark Watford and Elizabeth Estes. It has paid S360 more than $12,000 for ads to run in the days leading up to Tuesday’s election…."

Unfortunately, it appears that their website: http://www.oneohanapac.com is "Under Construction."

Here is their 2018 filing: https://ags.hawaii.gov/campaign/files/2018/09/One-Ohana-Political-Action-Committee-09-14-18-1.pdf

Just FYI.
