I just booked a 1 week reservation for a friend of mine at the South property at the same time I will be at the North. I have not switched the names over to them yet.

What would be the best way to work the system so that they will not have to pay parking fees? I'll add that I am Platinum Elite and although I am an owner (as opposed to someone who booked via Marriott.com for ex), my home property is WKORV - N.

Should I leave it in my name, check in for them and just add them to the occupancy record? Do they even charge parking fees if it's a Vistana reservation?

There is no parking fee, or resort fee with a timeshare reservation. There is only a fee on a hotel type rental where the guest rents directly from marriott.com. They only mandatory fee they will have it the State of Hawaii Occupancy Tax.

You and your guest may be confused by the parking fee listed on the confirmation - Marriott lists a parking fee on all confirmations, whether there is a parking fee or not, so they can use the same confirmation format for all types of reservations.

I think this is the same question as above, but I'm getting conflicting into from the property staff.

Does anyone know if MVC parking fees apply if renting from an owner? I'm renting next week at Crystal Shores and called the front desk to ask. They said the parking fee will apply even though I'm a "guest of an owner". That doesn't seem right since the owner's fees are covering my stay, but how could I contest this if charged upon arrival?

Unfortunately, the front desk is not a reliable source of info - lots of inexperienced people these days. There are no parking fees on a timeshare reservation - I am assuming you have the timeshare reservation in-hand?

Thanks, that's very helpful to know! Yes, the reservation has been transferred from the timeshare owner.

Front desk is very inexperienced. They gave away our OF room that was reserved midnight 1 year prior to another party with the same last name - our last name is not very common but far from unique. You'd think they would have checked the first name.
