Hi,

I may be renting a WKORV-N IV villa from a friend and was wondering if you guys have some recommendations for a building to request. We'd like a high floor, but if it means lugging beach gear up and down stairs twice a day (not to mention groceries), then forget it. I think she booked at 12 months out, but it's IV, so what are the good choices?

I should have used my own owner's week at WKORV  , but now it's too late to *not* get a parking lot view, so I have to resort to renting, I think. I know I will miss the oven, but it might be nice to experience North with two balconies :D . Will North be a disappointment after staying at the original flavor six times? Would I be better off trying to find a WKORV rental instead? I have an exchange the following week at WKORV.

North lacks elevators, IMO. If you click on the second link below, the elevators are marked with the up/down arrows. If you want to be close to the garage, then ask for Bldg. 7. We were in Bldg 5 and we used valet the second time we went grocery shopping because it was such a haul.

Will you be disappointed? You'll be in Maui at a beautiful resort. I sure hope not.

Thanks for the recommendations. Did you have IV or OV?

We own, and actually got, OF (5605/06).

There's really not a bad view on the north side, though obviously some views are better than others. The higher floors on the north side of bldg 7 might be ideal if you spend a lot of time on your lanai. The higher floors might get a distant ocean view, but most importantly there's no traffic on this side of the building so you'll get a lot of privacy if you don't get assigned a high floor.

Personally, I'd prefer to look over the pool or koi pond over a distant ocean view but the risk is that if you get assigned a lower floor, you might have no privacy on your lanai.

We were just at WKORV-N the first week of December and we were on the top floor of building 7 with a nice view of the ocean and Molokai. I'm not sure whether they consider it IV or not, but we were on an SVN exchange that I reserved at 8 months. When I made the reservation I asked the agent what to ask for and she said people generally ask for upper floors in order to see over the trees. It worked out fine for us. We were fairly close to the elevator in building 7. We had unit 7670/7669 which also overlooked the adult pool and barbeque area. Good luck,
Doug
