I reserved our week (owners) at WKORV in early December for Sat to Sat. Once I was able to book our flights (using miles) I could only get Fri - Fri so I called back to shift a day earlier and they said they had no rooms. But then on the WKORV hotel site they have tons of rooms. I asked about that and they said they don't own that inventory.

I was told to keep calling back to check for a cancellation. I grabbed a Fri night room on the hotel site just in case to cover us. Do they have any better rates for owners?

Cstreet, ... You say you reserved your owners week in early December. How long until you leave for WKORV? Knowing this detail could help anyone giving advice. ... eom

That's correct - the inventory on the hotel site belongs to Starwood - not owners.

You get a small discount as an owner - to get the discount, you will probably need to call to make the Resv. Since you probably won't get to stay in the same villa anyway, you may want to stay somewhere cheaper and save some $$$.

You should also keep calling back - early December is off-season, and you may get a cancellation.

If you are on a red-eye, you might really like having rights to that room until Saturday. My least favorite part of the vacation is having to be out of the room at 10 am, stash the stuff in the car and then wait in line to use a hospitality room and rush the kids through, and then have to kill more hours until time to go to the airport.

The week is the first week in December this year. Oh well I'll keep calling every once and a while. I went that same week this year and it was totally quiet so not sure what the deal is with availability.

I believe fewer units are designated for Fri. check-in.

"I believe fewer units are designated for Fri. check-in."

No location given in the OP's TUG Profile. For many of us on the East Coast or in the Midwest, going to WKORV for a Friday arrival means taking another day off work.

Not really much of a West Coast problem. But, sort of like a West Coast person looking for a Friday check-in at WSJ.

Plus, David posted there are no OF check-ins on Fridays at WKORV. http://tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159298 Don't know if the OP owns OF at WKORV. ... eom

The OP WANTS a Friday check-in - I'm not suggesting it.

Didn't say you were suggesting it! And, it's clear I know what the OP WANTED - but couldn't get.

You said you believe there are fewer units for Friday check-in. There certainly are if for no other reason than the travel times from the East Coast and the Midwest to Maui make Friday arrivals less desirable.

And, if David's post is correct, there is not one Friday check-in available for OF unit owners at WKORV. The OP never said what type of unit was owned. The OP may have been looking for OF. If the OP was, David's post may explain why at 10 months from arrival there is no Friday availability at a rather slow time of year at WKORV.

Surprised you didn't understand my post the first time. ... eom

I often don't understand your posts... :D

I would have started the post with:

"There are some valid reasons that there are fewer Friday check-ins."
