WKORV 1 Bedroom Premium or WKORV-North studio both island view

I have been calling trying to get a 1 bedroom for late Feb 2012, I already have a studio for 8 days via staroptions and 2 more nights via SPG points.

I would like to have a 1 bedroom but all studios and 1 bedroom units are not available at the North (where I own) but a 1 bedroom is available on the original.

Question: how bad is the view from a 1 bedroom on the original side assume I get the worst unit at this late date?

Worst case scenario is parking lot/highway view. But the resort itself is ocean front, so that does mitigate the crappy view quite a bit, IMO. I'd take it.

Depending on how many people you're traveling with, a studio can be sufficient. The chances of a better view at North are greater than South. That said, I agree with Lisa and would switch to a 1-bed regardless of which resort, but then I've had ocean view many times and don't require it all the time.

The worst view would be the ground floor on the highway side of Bldg. 4 in the original (south) villas. Personally, I would hate that view, but a good view is very important to us.

On the North side, all the units in bldg. 6 & 7 face the ocean/pool, so none of them have a highway, parking lot view.

Thanks for the replys:

I purchased island view at WKORV-North because the views were fine with me on the North side but I am not sure I would be ok with a parking lot view.

It is just 2 of us for 10 days and I was trying to switch to a 1 bedroom premium from my current studio because of the extra room (spoiled I guess).

When I have called (3xs now) there is 0 available at WKORV-North and a 1 bedroom available at original

I'd try it, even though it is a last minute reservation, I think they will give you a bump for owning on the other side.

Well I booked 10 nights in the 1 bedroom premium on the original side, so we will see what room we get.

Figured we do not spend a lot of time on the balcony anyway, will be at the beach/pool most of time and out at night....

Just prefer the extra room

While I haven't had the "privilege" of Bldg 4 highway-side views, I strongly disagree that it can be any worse than the "wall-plumeria tree-laundry/garbage" trifecta that you get from the inside corners of Bldg 6 on the North side, especially on the lower floors (specifically 6x36 and 6x38)

As someone else wisely said when I brought this up a few months ago, "if you want a good view go outside"

BTW, am I the only one who still can't get over the fact the Westin Kaanapali in the URL appears as "we-stink-aanapali"????:D
