I already have a 2 BR Lock-off reserved and have enough banked options for a 6 night studio stay so my other son/daughter-in-law want to join. I haven't reached the 8mo window yet and was wondering if people have had better luck getting a room depending on whether you tried to start your stay on Saturday or Sunday?

I'd prefer Sunday check-in but may do Saturday if it is available and depending what great advice I get from some of you experts :)

Thanks,
Tim

2016 reservations have been very difficult to get. I recommend that you try for Saturday and hold it in reserve, and then cancel it at the last minute if Sunday is available, and reserve Sunday. But if Sunday shows as "limited availability" there is a good chance that you won't be able to reserve it.

Thanks Denise - yes I understand the demand at the 8 month window for Hawaii will be high. A question with regards to the online availability at 12ET online - I did this for my 12 month reservation but it seemed like it took a minute or two past midnight before it actually became available. Do people just keep hitting reload at the midnight crossing?

They are available exactly at midnight - you may have a slow internet connection?

I usually log on around 8:50 p.m.(Pacific Time), so I can choose the resort, date, size of villa, etc.. Then, yes, I keep hitting the refresh button a little after 8:59 p.m.. It takes about 3 seconds to reload. So very shortly after 9:00 p.m. the date that I want becomes available, and I make my reservation. Good luck! CJ

Thanks mauitraveler - I thought that was what I did but it hadn't updated for what seemed excessive so I logged out of mystarcentral and back in and then it worked. So maybe there was some bottleneck that evening - and Denise I actually have a very fast internet connection :)

If you log out and back in, at midnight or later, you have no chance - that's how tight it is.

Hope you're checking that Variable Date checkbox when you run your searches.

Hope you're checking that Variable Date checkbox when you run your searches.

That won't help right at the 8 mo. mark for future dates. If it's too early you can't reserve them.

So if the OP is trying for the Saturday check-in, he won't be able to get the Sunday check-in, until the next night at midnight.
