We will be leaving for Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia in 2 weeks and looking for some last minute advice;

1) Our RCI confirmation just says 2BR sleeps six. I just read a review about units 49 and 50 which indicated they were old and nasty and after 1 night and several complaints they were moved to a newer unit closer to main building which was far superior to the first unit. Is their anyway to get a newer unit at check in or are the units pre-assigned.

2) We are not taking the all inclusive since we usually eat a late breakfast in the unit and do not drink much so dining is basically dinners eating out. I just read that two of the restaurants are closed for renovations but not sure if they will re-open by the time we get there. Anyone there now that can tell us when all the restaurants will be open? Any recommendations for nearby restaurants within walking distance? I had read somewhere there are 1 or two good restaurants nearby but can't remember their names.

3) Last minute must do activities. We plan on taking at least 1 all island tour and read somewhere that if we tour the new Windjammer units they will give you a free tour? Anyone know if it's worth it and how to get the best offer on freebie tour?

4) Also would like to take at least one catamaran tour around the island with snorkeling. Any recommendations?

Can't wait for our trip and would appreciate any and all recommendations.:hi: :banana: :cheer:

Thanks

No restaurant nearby. It is far from everywhere without a car. I hope you have a car. Otherwise, you will be stuck in the resort.

The units are pre-assigned. However, this can't be their busiest time. If you don't get a nice unit, ask nicely to exchange.

Can't help you with when restaurants will reopen. There are no restaurants within walking distance. The one possible exception was the small resort next door. You could get an all-inclusive lunch or dinner there. A little pricey, but included drinks. They did have a seafood dinner one night. This was about 3 years ago so things may have changed.

3) Last minute must do activities. We plan on taking at least 1 all island tour and read somewhere that if we tour the new Windjammer units they will give you a free tour? Anyone know if it's worth it and how to get the best offer on freebie tour?

We did the tour in exchange for the catamaran trip that went to the Pitons. Included lunch and snorkeling. It was the best thing we did there.

4) Also would like to take at least one catamaran tour around the island with snorkeling. Any recommendations?

There are no catamaran trips that go around the island. The island is too large. The resort will offer free snorkeling trips that are a lot of fun. You have to sign up at watersports in advance to be sure you have a place on the boat. Also banana boat rides and water skiing for free along with sailboats, kayaks, etc.

Can't wait for our trip and would appreciate any and all recommendations.:hi: :banana: :cheer:

Have a great time. We've done several tours there. The only one we didn't like was the horseback riding. Way too much time standing around and very little time riding. I highly recommend the ziplining in Dennery and a trip to Pigeon Island.

leaving end of this week

Thanks Riverside;

We are leaving at the end of the week for Windjammer and just hoping someone else has some last minute information regarding restaurants at the resort or nearby as well as activities.

So far we are thinking of taking the timeshare tour to get the all day island tour at the discounted price and we will do the jungle tour with the zip line attraction.

Anything else recommended???? We hope all four restaurants at the resort will be open when we get there.

I will write a review when we get back.:hi: :banana: :cheer:
