We have some extra points we have to use by the end of the year, and we are thinking Marriott's Manor Club at Fords Colony in Williamsburg. We would be looking at either the week of 10/28 or 11/4.

Questions:
Is there still plenty to in Williamsburg and the surrounding areas this time of year? (hiking, sightseeing, etc.)
Are the temperatures still comfortable (50's to 70's). We prefer to avoid the colder temps (40's and lower).

Any advice appreciated.

I'd pick Oct 28. You should have great weather. You're just a bit past leaf season. The weather can start to get cooler in Nov. On the other hand, our neighbors went to outer banks 1st week in Nov a few years ago and it was in the 80s. Lots to do, and a number of fall festivals in the area that likely end Oct 31. MMC is lovely and the setting (in a wooded country club) is very nice. I enjoyed just walking around the neighborhoods. There are a number of plantations on route 5 along the James River. And, of course, Colonial Williamsburg will have activities/events going on.

Great time, I am going Oct 26. Lower humidity but not really cool yet. A lot nicer for Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens is open for Hallow Scream event. The only thing that would not be available is if you wanted to swim at Virgina Beach. Too cold for me at that time. Otherwise, Yorktown, Jamestown, restaurants, are all open for business.

We spent a week at the Marriot Manor Club in Williamsburg in late October a few years ago..daytime weather was in the low 70’s with low humidity and night time temps were in the low to mid 60’s..the fall colors were fabulous..especially driving on the Colonial Parkway…It’s a great time to visit the Williamsburg area.

Awesome, awesome time to be there.......Plenty to do, that's for sure......the walking trails around Manor Club are beautiful and are such a memory,
even walking alongside the golf course.
We've started going to Manor Club EVERY Fall and we look forward to that trip as much as any we ever take....
We've totally fallen in love with the resort and the city, and the many historical tours available. It's definitely a different kind of vacation, in a good way!!!
Oct, Nov, Dec are our favorite times to be there....go for it! Great restaurant list if you need one!

Everything will be open, the College will be busy, and you may not be past peak leaf season. I go down to Williamsburg about five times each fall for one reason or another. It's the best weather month IMO even if it is the tail end.

Second all of above. One time we were there and a freak light snow. The fireplace in the room was nice and just hanging on the property was great. Don't miss Jamestown.

We went in September last year. I know it's not Oct. or Nov, but there was plenty to do and I HIGHLY recommend visiting Jamestown Settlement, Historic Jamestown, and Yorktown. EXCELLENT museums (both indoors and out doors). We also did Colonial Williamsburg on a previous visit, which was great.
