Will Hyatt extend EEE Points expiration dates?

I haven't been able to reach through to Hyatt to find out if my EEE points expiration date (June 3,2020) can be extended as most resorts are either closed and when to be able to travel safely is still in question. I have tried by phone and after a long wait the system hangs up on you. I also tried by chuckd1947@gmail.com with no response.

Being in the over 70 age group with underlying health issues, we are hesitant to make any plans right now. Has anyone researched or is aware of Hyatt extending the expiration dates as some of the Hotels have with their programs?

You can extend them yourself....let me explain.

Book a reservation or reservations in II for April 2022(the furthest out you can go as of today) using all of your EEE points. Reserve at any location because all you are doing is using the reservation as a holding place for your points. Add eplus.

Now you have a reservation that can be stretched out to April 2023(in theory).

Hopefully this will work for you and you can do it all online.

I should add I assume you have enough points to at least make a low season II reservation that either expire this year or next.

It is easier for me in that I have two Hyatt weeks that are five weeks apart. So if I use this strategy but need a few more points it usually works out that I’m try to add to points expiring in July and I can do that with new points from my June unit.

Hope this makes sense.

When it comes time to eplus your units you can use new points that weren’t in your account when you did your initial booking.

Thank You for your suggestions. I have 1300 Points that expire in June 2020 and 1300 in June 2022. When I try to book out a reservation i.e. Gatlinburg, it only gives me the option to use 2020 points that don't expire until 2022. Not the 2018 points that expire in 2020. That is why I was trying to reach Hyatt by phone.

Hyatt uses the oldest points in EEE. It doesn't matter what the II option says. It's done automatically. I have two units and it always uses the oldest points first.

I agree, I recently added a new contract and gave another away and have talked to Hyatt agents extensively about EEE points and how they are used and transferred.

It does not matter what contract you click in Interval if you own multiple. Hyatt holds all of your EEE points until there is a reservation and then they move the oldest points to Interval. So Hyatt actually keeps them until used- and once moved they belong to Interval.

AND they use EEE points first. My issue is I now have extra CUP points from cancellations and am past the EEE deadline. I asked Hyatt if I could move them via exception and they said NO. So the only way to spend my CUP points (expiring soon) in Interval is to spend all of my EEE points first.

So the strategy above works well once you make a reservation - which gets the points out of Hyatts control and into Interval - where the ePlus can be used to push them out farther.

Is it not true however that you can check availability on II but when it comes to booking a reservation with EE points you have to call Hyatt Owner Services to actually make the reservation with your EE points and pay the required fees.

i.e. . One can NOT reserve II exchange transactions with EE points on the II website, even if looks like you can. You must call Hyatt to do it !

I made reservations on II website. EEE points were pulled from my Hyatt account automatically the following day.

If so , that's a new development. Thanks.

But re EE points , I think if I can, I think I would rather call Hyatt II Department to make the reservation and complete the final details. ( unless they are closed and when I really must complete the transaction. (Like on Saturday or Sunday night when the points are expiring and they are closed etc.. )
