Right now it would cost $1400 round trip and we have $800 in travel vouchers, so it could be worse, but that still seems high. SF to Oahu, doing miles interisland and then back from Kona to SF in late June, early July. I'm not sure if I should do it now or wait?
Thanks,
Liz

Gosh! I hope so. My daughter's coming to visit in March but she already has her tickets.

That does seem pretty high. Nothing is guaranteed of course but I would wait at least a month or so and keep checking for sales. Seems to me like you should be able to get in the $500 ea. range so with your vouchers it would be nearly free. Have you checked alternate airports (SJC or OAK)? Sometimes that makes a huge difference.

Wait, that's too high. It seems like Hawaii airfares go down for that time period sometime between the middle/end of February and early April. Start watching every day and sign up for farewatcher alerts on any sights you can find (orbitz, travelocity...). Monday and Tuesday tend to be the days that the lowest fares come up.

FWIW, Northwest has sale fares to Honolulu from San Francisco for $141 round trip. I guess the trick is to be flexible with your dates.

I work with Hawaiian Air a lot and I would not count on their rates going down. They tend to go up as you get closer and availibility gets slimmer.

Well, maybe I spoke too soon. I see a very low fare from San Jose to Honolulu if you travel between now and March 15th. This is an attempt to sell space "at the last minute". Summer in Hawaii is a different picture. But one can never tell with these crazy airlines.

Lola :p

Must fly Hawaiian to use up our vouchers. We are flying into Oakland, so as to visit my son in SF, so it makes sense to fly out of SF. I guess I'll just bite the bullet, concerned that they could go up as it is summer and includes 4th of July.
