Got a call this morning that Oceanic Cable would be in the room to install the in-room WiFi equipment. :D Don't know if that means they will turn it on or just install the equipment.

I hope I am here when they come. I would still like to install my router again next year so that I can have a secure wireless connection.

Cheers.

WiFi up

The in-room WiFi is up in Bldgs 2 and 3. They are doing 4 an 5 tomorrow. To get on you have to get a userID and password for each device you are going to connect.

On the Windows systems you select the network and then launch Explorer and that will give you the sign in screen for the user ID and password.

The only way we could get the iPad to connect was to select the network, then go to Safari and go to www.oceanic.net. That will give you the sign-on screen.

Supposedly the ethernet is still available, and indeed there is an ethernet cable. I plugged it in to my router, but could not connect. Didn't play with it much and will try again later. I would like to get this to work because it gives me a secure connection.

This was posted through the in-room WiFi.

Cheers,

Paul
