The author doesn't mention the details of the Spanish timeshare law changes in 1999, but should. The 3 main points are: no perpetual contracts. (duration of 3 to 50 years), No points or floating weeks (must be deeded). And no taking of deposits within a 14 day cooling off period. Those rules would severely limit sales in any country. But there are no such rules in the US, so developers need not fear. If anybody wants to follow the current dealings in Europe, www.insidetimeshare.com is a great site. It is run by an Englishman.
