Why can't I make reservation?

Question for the knowledge bank: I tried to make my reservation online for home resort booking. West 57th and Seaworld. Availability comes up with green bar, but when I try to reserve, it does not allow me to book using my points. Is there something I just don't understand? Thanks in advance.

I think that you'll need to be a bit more specific...
-- When is your proposed stay? Are you within the home-resort reservation window?
-- What points are you using? Your 2012 point-allotment, or banked or borrowed points?

There's also the option of calling HGVC to get an answer from the horse's mouth.

fwiw, I discovered recently that you cannot borrow points to make a home resort period reservation.

(I had to change a 9 month out non-home resort reservation by cutting back the number of days to get some points back, then book my 12 month home resort reservation, then change my non-home reservation adding back the cut days by borrowing.)

I figured it out

Called HGVC to find out. Apparently, on West 57th, I can only reserve during "Home Resort" time frame (9 months out). If I want to reserve in the "Home Week" time frame (12 months out), my home week (original purchase week) must be the Home Week time frame. In other words, if I want to reserve West 57th for next December, my registered week of purchase must be in the winter weeks. I guess I misunderstood my reservation rights.

As for Seaworld, there is no Home Resort time frame. I can reserve all the way through the "Club" time frame, but still limited in reserving for Home Week time frame unless my purchase was registered for the winter weeks.

When running into stumbling blocks like this, it always pays to re-read the "rules" (HC/NY has its own section). I've done so at least six times now.

MTU, I don't think the registered week of purchase has anything to do with it.

I THINK what they mean is that that if you want to reserve the type/size unit on your deed, for one week... that you need to do that 9-12 months in advance. It doesn't matter which month.
