Why am I not getting a VIPP discount of 50%? (*** SOLVED ***)

Is there something wrong here? Why am I only getting ~40% discount?

Check the price the days following perhaps the price per points there is a discount for those days already reducing it to 25,500 normal points would be 30k. So you are getting 50% discount just not a discount of discounted points which will never happen.

You're right. It's 15000 per night. 12,750 is a 15% discounted rate.

It's because check-in on Sunday, February 16th is within your "60 day" (actually two month) window and you're being shown the platinum discount rate. Check-in on Monday, February 17th is outside the discount window and you're only being shown the non-VIP discount for those dates. (For instance, for me as a non-VIP, both sets of dates show at 25,500 points.)

I wanted to find out where they advertise these discounts. Here is the place. But National Harbor is not listed though!

Yes, they don't always make it to the deals and offers page. As you can see, most of the posted deals (aside from St. Thomas) are advertised as running through late December, but the National Harbor discount we see above is in February. They're just not on top of those updates.

Obviously, they are trying to push up the utilization in these resorts, but it doesn't really serve their purpose if they don't advertise the discounts sooner! After all, unlike groceries, travel requires planning!
I guess different departments deal with these issues and obviously they don't communicate well!

Usually it's when there's a decent amount of inventory remaining at 45-60 days out. It's mostly weekdays that get discounted.

Yea my Uncle whines about this discount being given to non VIP owners. He feels this waters down his VIP status.

I compare this statement to when you try to give back a deed with Ovations and Wyndham will not take it back unless you own it for 1 year. You then put it up for sale on the TUG market place and Wyndham's prefered broker buys it for $500 plus all closing and resort transfer fees. All this through a third party that Wyndham is purchasing from. That's what I call one hand not knowing what the other is doing!

VIPs have to remember that non VIPs do get point discounts, but we don't get unlimited housekeeping credits. I have to rent out 224,000 points and 154 housekeeping credits a year (using both my guest certificates) just so I can take advantage of the discounted stays without running out of housekeeping credits.

They should however reduce the number of credits a 1 bedroom suite requires to clean. IMO it should be the same as a studio. I always see those rooms remaining in the Florida resorts, but I never take them because they still use up 63 housekeeping credits.
