I'm just curious. As I see *wood selling my property at nightly rates, I am curious about the standard for room placement priority.

My first reaction was "OK........as an owner it's good to see the income of a property being supplemented by the selling of unused inventory" but then I realized.........what if they want to sell "MY" week?? Am I competing with them for the best room location too??

I understand that me, at my home property, reserved at 9:03 am ET 12 months prior gets top billing but after that, do the waters get kind of murky? Is the process at all transparent (ha, ha)?

Can you order them for me?

Owners 9- 12 months?
Owners less than 9 months?
Other SVO property owners/staroptions 3-8 months?
Renters from *wood promotions paying over-inflated nightly rates (they would not want to make them angry)?
Gold/Plat SPG members using a variety of alternative booking methods (yes, maybe they don't get Plat rewards but again, SPG wants to keep them happy)?

Here's my take - Jim, who used to work for Starwood, will hopefullly chime it.

Owners 9- 12 months. (Based on timestamp)

Elite Owners at their home resort.

Elite Owners from other resorts.

Owners less than 9 months?/Other SVO property owners/staroptions 3-8 months? (When you don't reserve by 8 mos., you are just another Staroption Exchanger - no priority for your home resort.)

I have no idea about the last categories:

Renters from *wood promotions paying over-inflated nightly rates (they would not want to make them angry)?

Gold/Plat SPG members using a variety of alternative booking methods (yes, maybe they don't get Plat rewards but again, SPG wants to keep them happy)? (It was "reported" that someone talked to one of these folks at WKORV who was staying in an OF unit!)
