We are planning a trip to Williamsburg in mid July.

We will have 2 19 yr old girls with us. So should we choose a 2 bdrm at Marriott's Manor Ford's Colony or Bluegreen's Patrick Henry ?

Thanks for the input.

I was considering both of those but ended up choosing King's Creek because we could get a 3 bedroom cottage to ourselves with the same AC.

Location, on site amenities and the quality of the resort are always my top reasons for selecting a resort to stay. I personally would recommend Marriott over Bluegreen any day. That is my personal opinion only.

Enjoy your stay in Colonial Williamsburg.

I've stayed at Patrick Henry. Location is amazing, you can easily walk to Colonial Williamsburg and Merchant Square. But we found our unit on the small side, and very dark--there were no windows in the bedroom. So if you think you'll mostly be out and running around, and you want easy access to the heart of Williamsburg, I would choose Patrick Henry.

If you want a more luxurious experience and don't mind driving around, go with the Marriott. King's Creek is also very nice and offers large units with a lovely indoor pool, but again, you need to drive places.

That's a mile plus walk to Merchant's Square. Not that bad in the spring or fall, but a long hot/cold walk in the summer/winter.

Historical fact one resort was once an old motel converted to a timeshare resort and it is not the Manor Club. Their rooms are small, but their location is not to far from downtown Colonial Williamsburg (not walking distance).

My husband is a very hearty walker! :p

But even if you're like me and don't want to walk all the way to Merchant's Square, you can walk to the closest stop on the Colonial Williamsburg shuttle route--I think it's the Palace stop. That is probably about a quarter of a mile from Patrick Henry.

Then the bus will take you around to Merchant's Square in comfort.
