I am trying to decide between Cypress Harbour and Horizons for an upcoming trip. Is the pool area at both heated in the winter? The children's pool at Horizons? Which has more kid friendly activities? We will be spending more time at the resort than the parks for this trip.

Thanks,
Becky

Horizons has More Kid Friendly Features.

The Horizon is themed for children. There are three water features. One pool has a pirate ship with tiny slides and water cannons etc, another pool has a large slide, and there is small outdoor water park. But the staff that runs the activities were like zombies the last time we were there. The staff was nice, but had no enthusiasm.

Cypress harbour has nicer pools and you can rent fishing gear, paddle boats and bicycles, the recreation center is bigger and the staff has been more into the kids than the staff across the street at Horizons.

You'll have a great time no matter which one you choose, but don't count on the staff to entertain the kiddies. My choice would depend on the age of the children. If the kids are very young, say between the ages of 3 and 8, I would say go for Horizons, anything older I say go to Cypress Harbour. If they are younger than 3 it does not matter.

Of the two my choice would be Cypress Harbour. But as Charles said, you will enjoy either with your kids.

Haven't been to Cypress but my 6 year old grandson loved Horizons--had to drag him out of the pool.

Ask for a room away from the stairs if you choose Horizons.

Kids can be noisy on the stairs in the evening. Also, the sandy area that you may see from the road is inaccessible. It's more of a landscaping feature than a play area for the kids.
