We're going to Kauai Lagoons 2BR OV on legacy DC points (50% off) the second week of January. Any suggestions on which of the 3 buildings A B or C is the best? Also is top or bottom floor preferred?

We've toured the Lagoons while we were at the Beach Club, so we have a feel for the layout of the resort but would appreciate some input. We didn't think we'd get back there so easily. :)
Thanks

When we were there in early Novembr of 2010, only building A was open. Although it is the most distant from the pool, I think it has the best oceanfront views, as there is less golf course in the way of the water view. The view we had was just like the view they had been using on brochures and at the website...totally unobstructed and really fun to watch vessels entering and leaving Nawiliwili Harbor. (fishing boats, a few cruise ships, barges)

The two bedroom was gorgeous, with upgraded appliances and the wall of folding glass that opened one whole wall of the living room to the lanai or balcony. I did post a review on TUG if you need more detail. We had been at Waiohai the previous week, so did not miss the easy beach access as much as if Lagoons had been our only Kauai week.

We loved it as an extra Kauai week, but not as a replacement for Waiohai. Hope you enjoy it too.

I just made a two night reservation for February and was told that only one building is open.

Looks like an airstrip and taxiway right behind the three buildings? Is there a lot of traffic/flights and noise?

That is the Kauai airport next door. There is quite a bit of traffic, but the noise did not bother us. There are quite a few helicopters flying the sightseeing route from the airport over Nawiliwili that make a bit more annoying noise.

If you like planes, walk out toward the lighthouse and you'll be right in the landing path. Being retired Air Force, my husband loved watching the huge Air Force C17s and fighter jets (F22s) from Hickam/Pearl on Oahu doing practice landings on Kauai. Now those were loud! However, that doesn't happen every day.
