Whoa -- That Could Mess Up My Vacation Bigtime.

When depositing with RCI keep in mind that even though you have a confirmation RCI may cancel your reservation at the last minute.
I sure am glad that hasn't happened to me. We haven't done all that many RCI exchanges, so I suppose it could still happen some time in the future if our luck doesn't hold.

Does a last-minute cancellation come up, say, when I show up at the front desk of the timeshare expecting to check in? Or does RCI break it to me a day or 2 before?

Has that ever happened to you ?

Does I-I ever pull last-minute cancellations? Or is that strictly an RCI phenomenon ?

Just wondering.

I only stayed with RCI for one year and fortunately it didnt happen to me.

There have been a bunch of threads on RCI doing this, one last week, in which RCI notified the exchanger the day before check in. RCI seems to blame it on over booking and nonsense like that. Short of a unit becoming inhabitable for some unforseen reason, a confirmation should be just that. A confirmed unit.

I dont recall ever hearing of that happening with II except for natural disasters and things like that.
