Resorts Owned
WKV, SDO, HPP, Bay Club
We have had stays at Wyndham in Oceanside thanks to RCI trades however we are interested in staying more often in the SD area.( We use to own a HGVC in the area but the limited resorts in the area was a deciding factor for us to sell.) We live less than 2hrs away and spend a good amount of time in the area. Any suggestions on what and where to buy? I see CWA resale contracts on EBay and saw some ads on TUG. However, I believe the smaller contracts, under 200k, wouldn’t suffice since We need a 2bdrm.
TIA

You are correct that under 200k wouldn’t be enough! A 2bdrm for one week at W.O. Is 275k points. I love all my southern CA weeks and mostly go in summer. My fixed Palisades is the best but not as flexible as Wyndham. If you want W.O. In the summer I would buy there so you have APR. CWA has blackout days for there in summer. There was an eBay listing recently for one million points.
Good luck!

I must say the first four words of this thread are an attention getter!

Thanks. We love MarBrisa and Palisades entry into LEGOLAND however since we share local, shorter stays are easier for us.
I will continue to check out EBay. We don’t need an excessive amount of points since we already own w/in the MVC family. I just want access to go to the various TS in CA if possible.

You might want to check out Worldmark. We just bought three separate WM contracts to supplement out Wyndham points. WM has a lot of resorts in California and out west in general.

Does CWA get access into Worldmark or do I need to buy both Wyndham and Worldmark? I’m hoping to get access to both Systems.

Resale Wyndham points do not have access to WM resorts. I am a WM newbie, there are some real experts here on TUG. Most really like the program. We bought to get access to New Braunfels, Marble Falls, Hunt (all in Texas); Santa Fe, Estes Park, Granby and W. Yellowstone. California has lots of resorts.

Worldmark can also be traded in II, which might supplement some of your MCV weeks..

Worldmark is better for California than wyndham. If you want full access to both systems, you will probably want to pick up at least 10,000 WM credits and get a 308,000 even or odd Wyndham contract and alternate between the two.

Worldmark can easily be used on a biennial basis with still getting 13 month ARP and not having to pay any point deposit fees, so 10,000 annual credits can easily be 20,000 every other year to compliment an even or odd wyndham contract.

Thanks. Looks like I will look for an EOY contract.

Have you found anything yet that looks good to you? FWIW, we use the heck
out of our 10,000 credit Worldmark ownership, but not in Oceanside. We even
stayed a few nights in McCall, Idaho for the total solar eclipse. Gorgeous lake there.

Our larger WYN ownership gets used at least once a year for Oceanside.

Remember that WM Oceanside and WYN Oceanside are several blocks apart. The WM
is right smack on the harbor with all of its associated amenities. WYN is right smack
on the ocean (across the street) and a bit closer to downtown, the train station, etc.

I will most like pick up EOY Worldmark. Reading and researching now.
