Hello. Nice to meet all of you here.

I am a newbie and have a question. Hilton gives you a much easier starting point with their HGV special offers on their website. It's very clear and straightforward; you do not need to speak to anyone and can purchase it online.

In contrast, for Marriott Vacation Club, there are three offers for Aruba, Hawaii, and Florida, but they don't seem current. The fine print states that the offer is valid until December 31st, 2023.

I obtained my lifetime platinum status with Marriott this year, and the Hilton Aspire card gets me Diamond status. I intend to keep this card for now after AMEX's fine restructure of it.

So now I want to get into the timeshare game. I hope to schedule HGV and MGV together in Hawaii or Orlando (Orlando seems the easiest) and attend both presentations to see my options. I am looking to have the HGV VIP offer and the MGV Encore offer together for my potential next game.

Any help on where I could start with the MGV timeshare offer package?

I would appreciate your input on different timeshare opportunities(initial discounted packages) like Hyatt or other hotel chains as well.
Thank you.

My experience shows if you call Marriott Bonvoy to make a hotel reservation or even modify one, they will ask you at the end of a call about these types of offers and will transfer you. You may want to try that route to see if they offer you something like that. You can always cancel the reservation later.

I would be careful of the timeshare sales' presentation, no matter where you go. All of them use lies, inuendo, and vagueness as their keys to success in selling even the top products.

You should avoid timeshare presentations and buy resale. But if you choose to go, definitely be skeptical and ask probing questions. Sometimes, points are not the "best thing out there."

Also, don't go to a Wyndham presentation. Those are the worst.

my advice is I would suggest you read the last 2 sections of the pink area in this forum to familiarize yourself with the Abound system.
Even then there is so much to know it may be hard to separate fact from fiction at a presentation.
So absolutely positively say NO to any offer- don’t buy now. It’s not a one time thing you will get other offers.
Take notes, read more on this site and come back with questions.

You can buy both weeks and points resale for much less than they will offer you. You don’t have to buy direct.
Have a look at this thread-

honestly I wouldn’t waste my precious vacation time on a presentation that will be filled with confusing misinformation.
I don’t think you will be clearer on what is best for you after the meetings because the because it’s the salesperson jobs to convince you to buy them them.
