My daughter and her husband just signed papers to transfer their timeshare away and I have a taker for the Summer Bay unit I'm getting rid of.

I'll be down to two units at Tropic Shores Resort and 13,000 Bluegreen points.

I love to go to the TSR and the BG points are economical if I avoid Fri and Sat night stays which is easy in that system. Min. two night stays with no extra charges for ressies or housekeeping.

I'm nowhere near finalizing the Summer Bay unit and I'm already trying to figure out what to buy next.

I don't think I'm crazy so I must be sick and I need a cure.

I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat.:confused:

You need more BG points deeded at a resort(s) you would like to visit :eek:
You can reserve at BG resorts. Trade thru the BG/RCI portal. Deposit in II and get a bonus cert for most deposits. It is just so darn flexible it replaces a lot of other ownerships.

I am always tweaking things myself :shrug:

If you need help with your addiction, you are in the wrong place :)

The first step on the road to recovery is admitting you have a problem. I don't see that you HAVE a problem. So no need for recovery. Problem solved. ;)

What about a TUG addiction?

I was hoping for some help with my TUG addiction, but since I can't seem to recognize that there is a problem, I guess I'm sunk. :)

You've come to the wrong place.

I had two when I first joined TUG. Now I have six.

Maybe TUG is the problem and not timeshares.

Four years ago I came here to figure out how to get rid of some of my timeshares. While looking at ads I found the one we put in my daughter's name and had five at the time.

My original four are now gone and my daughter's will be soon.

Or maybe DAE is the culprit, I traded into Tropic Shores through them and ended up buying there.:hysterical:

:rofl::rofl: Just say "no".

Have to say that with all the good input from TUG, I have learned to make my timeshares work for me. That is, I have learned where to buy, what to buy and which weeks to buy - for cheap. I rent out the occasional primo ones to pay the MFs on the others.

It's a symbiotic relationship of sorts (from the freedictionary:There is a continuum between parasitic and symbiotic where a symbiont is able to use the host without hurting it at all and gives back. )

Still, I have 6. ;)

:rofl::rofl:

I wondered if anyone was going to call me out on my "omissions" ! Guilty as charged.

I should have said............ minus the Allen House, Edinburgh Residence, LaVista, WSJ and one of the Edgartown Harborside Inn units. Oh, the Hyatt HdM - given up via divorce (yay !).

So, I am down to 6 now. Stay tuned. I am watching one at the Crane.

"Lord I'm a timeshare junkie, have pity on me".......... (sung to the tune of "Junk Food Junkie").

This site is definitely an enabler! Fortunately, the additional timeshares have come with a lot of great new friends!:banana:

Lol, I had one, and I now have 12! (Not to mention at least a half dozen that I don't own anymore) Think of this as a support group for managing your addiction, not beating it.

:hysterical: You're such an overachiever ! :hysterical:

Maybe it's more "mismanaging" our addiction. :D
It sure feels nice sitting on that warm beach in February at a lovely resort with a kitchen all the while sipping a Mai Tai and knowing that you can return every year if you want. (I love run-on sentences).

I say.............. go ahead, feed the beast !!

gave away 2 the past year and bought one. Sort of like trimming a stock portfolio--lol! RCI worked out very well for us this year--prime week in So Cal, summer week in Banff and just got back from St.Georges Club in Bermuda. Might be an addiction, but it's got pretty good benefits!

I keep getting rid of some and then finding something else. I just picked up a south Florida President's week with views of the intercostal and the Atlantic from the balcony.

You are not sick at all. We own three resorts and just booked our Two Marriott Weeks to piggy back off our Ridge Tahoe week (Three weeks) in the same unit in the same building we own.

Now I have to look up our RCI weeks for the winter.

We love our home resort at the Ridge which we own a 2 bedroom Cascade Unit and we loved our unit we stayed in this time so we got them to "lock in" our unit pending no maintenance issues for three weeks starting the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend.

It doesn't get any better my friend . Just look around at all the Resells and you will score another good resort.
