Are we still playing Where Am I? I'd say 2-404. We stayed in 2-304 in 2021. That year I believe T_R_Oglodyte was in 3-303. We could see him sitting in front of his computer screens. We benefited from their leftover food when they had to go back home.

I don't think anybody will stalk you. More likely that they will envy you.

With the erection of the Great Wall of Poipu, we may be shifting toward getting Ocean View units such as yours, for fewer points, than Ocean Front units, now that many of the Ocean Front units have compromised views.

There is a storm coming in, and very high tide this weekend because of some moon event (?), so the waves crashing against the rocks here in front of the resort should be entertaining. Still loving my Lanai view!!!!

We went to the Grove Farm Market this morning - great produce and big selection! This farmer's market is located on Puhi
Road, across the highway from Kauai Community College, which is on Hwy. 50 south of Lihue.

Another nice market is the Aloha Market at Allerton Garden every Thursday. A local hālau performs a free hula show at 12:30 p.m.

Yes, we love the Grove Farm Market also. Glad you are enjoying the lanai. We have had clouds and rain all day. We're heading into town to get our grocery shopping done before we get more rain.🤙🏻

At the Farmers Markets, keep you eyes open for Moloa'a Coffee. We stumbled across it one time, and is my favorite Hawaii coffee I've ever purchased, I haven't seen it, though, on our last couple of trips to Kauai.

I love your new ocean view Denise. We stayed at the Point at Poipu last month on a 7Across exchange and lucked out with a newly renovated room. The last time we were there was in 2010 and we stayed in building 10. It did look like that whole building was closed while we were there. Here is a picture from our patio. Can you guess what room we were in on this trip?

How did you like the renovated room?
Anything notable?

We've requested bldg 6 to see how it is, we'll see if we get that.

I'd guess you were in unit 6-105.

You are correct. It is a corner unit next to the great wall. It is very close to the trails mentioned, but probably the farthest unit in the resort from parking.

It was very nice and we liked it just fine. One thing that we found odd was the master bath's shower had no door and the water went everywhere. The bedrooms had a king and a queen bed. The last time we were there in building 10, one bedroom had two twins.

I know that place, I know it well,
Every sound and every smell.
It took one trip for us to tell,
We'd never want to leave there.

And all past trips come back to me
Like ships across a friendly sea
Like breezes blowing endlessly
Like waters running deep.

(apologies to David Mallett)

Today we went to Waimea Canyon - we got rained out, but we snuck in a quick picnic in Koke'e park before it really started coming down. At Koke'e, we were shocked to see that the huge evergreen tree that used to be in the middle of the park was nothing but a big pile of uprooted stumps. We asked a park employee what happened to it, and he said that last winter, it uprooted during a big storm. Kind of sad - we always ate lunch under that tree. The same employee cut a couple of stems of yellow ginger for me, which I added to my other bouquet - it smells heavenly! And of course we admired their collection of beautiful roosters - the ones in the park always seem to be the most colorful on the island.

Sorry to hear about that tree. We remember it well also. It sounds like tou made the best out of the day though.

Pretty windy and rain this morning but we were able to get our round of golf in with minimal sprinkles. First round we completed in a week and we both did well. I had my best game here on Molokai. It was the first time I broke 90 on this course.🤙🏻

You can tell fall is in the air here. We only got up to 83 today

Our grandkids had fun feeding them, and then chasing them around. They slept well that night.

One time when we were at the Point, we met some people who were being relocated out of their ground floor unit in building 4, next to the adult spa. They could handle the chickens hanging out by their front door, with crowing in the middle of the night. My hunch was that the prior occupant of the unit had been feeding the chickens.

We have seen no chickens from our lanai, and few in the resort area. Sometime ago I read that Kauai was relocating chickens out of populated areas - it appears to be working.

I forgot to mention one thing about our trip to Waimea Canyon - we say a mountain goat up close! I've heard them lots of time, and seen them at a distance, but I've never seen one close. It was crossing the road, but it was so fast, I couldn't get a picture. It looked similar to this goat, and was small - looked like a younger one:
