When I hop off a plane, the first thing I do is go get a drink and relax. I like craft beers, some wines (dry white) and fancy, creative cocktails.

If I return to the place I am visiting, I keep track of which watering hole I like the best.

When in Honolulu, I usually bee line it to Off the Wall.

Why? The home craft beer selection is awesome, the people are great. Yes, the beer is icy cold. Oh, the sliders, fish pinchos and dumplings are awesome. They have Great Taco pub finger food and I am going that way next time. They specialize in Latin American type food.

So, when you travel, where is your favourite watering hole? What’s your favourite cocktail or beer or wine at this watering hole? Any pub food you recommend at this watering hole? Hey, this helps me to compile a list of places to try in my travels.

Here’s a picture of what you get at Off the Wall... yummy.

For me it is Zero Gravity in Burlington VT. Good beer......not the best in the area......but very good. I love the space and atmosphere. Of course I have been to very few micro breweries that did not satify me.

I’ve been there before. I agree. Awesome place. Funny, I remember some cute chickens running around while I was enjoying my brewsky.

I don't really have a favorite watering hole, but I do have a favorite first night meal. Burger and beer.

Joe‘s Rum Hut on St. John. $4 happy hour painkillers, sit on the beach watching the yachts come in and the sun go down. Perfection!

I second Rocco’s Tocos, but the west palm location.
On Hilton Head Island it’s gotta be Pool Bar Jim’s

I still like the Trader Vics franchise too. I can’t remember whether they are still at the International Marketplace in Waikiki or not. Hmmm. Better check next time I go.

The best bloody mary in the world - the 7452 Mary at the St Regis Deer Valley! It takes the original Red Snapper bloody mary from the original St Regis New York creation and adds black lava salt on the rim, wasabi & celery foam, and the local High West Distillery vodka. The name - 7452 Mary - is a nod to the elevation of the St Regis hotel at Deer Valley. The St Regis funicular at Park City is fun to ride as well. Also served with a pipette filled with Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco so that you can customize the level of heat in your drink.

We've been to Disney alot (one kid did 2 college programs, and another daughter lives in Jacksonville with our grandson and husband) and in Animal Kingdom there is a lounge off of Tiffins - called Nomad. Prior to Pandora opening it was a hidden gem, it's more visible now but it is still my happy place in the happy place. Snow Leopard Salvation is my drink there, and part of the proceeds go to DIsney's conservation fund to protect habitats.
At Lake Ozark any drink on the lake relaxing away time floating in a cove....

MrockStar, when you are able to try some MI fun spots again, Up North
Villa Marine Bar - Frankfort, MI (about a 40 min or so from TC)
The Filling Station Microbrewery Traverse City (it's right next to the RR tracks and such a fun spot)

Any where, where it is quiet, no loud music playing, a nice bar around a swimming pool, not around loud teenagers or young adults between 21 to 25 years ago.
I just want to relax in a peaceful atmosphere . Chill, with some soft music playing in the background or listening to the ocean waves in the background.

The bartender's makes some good strong drinks at OceanWatch & SurfWatch. just ask for a little moe liquor.

HVC: The Point at Poipu, 3 deeded weeks, 1 of which is in The Club.
At the Bar and Grill at the Point at Poipu, there's water, and a big hole for the water. There's also mai tai's, great cheeseburgers, and delicious home made potato chips.

Not ocean waves but at Lake of the Ozarks at Backwater Jacks-on Sunday afternoons they have a reggae band: sitting on the patio, watching the sun go down, chill music, cold drink in hand...my favorite part of summer!

Lava Lava Beach Club in Waikoloa Village, HI. Happy hour starts at 3 PM on the beach with great mai tais, great food, and local musicians. Plus it'd always sunny there. What's not to like.
