Doesn't matter now. You can't get one.

3-5 years for my age? Why, someone is always thinking/meeting/suggesting new guidelines so insurances don't have to pay? Same with mammograms - they want to keep increasing the age.

I go yearly - of course my appointment was cancelled last week. This reminds me to call and reschedule. If I keep waiting, it might be a while before I can get an appointment.

Nope.....not going to follow that protocol. I've had a pap smear every year since I was 18 years old and I'm not changing that just so insurance companies don't have to pay. And that is exactly what the reasoning is behind these "suggestions." I have known too many women who put off going in for screenings or do them sporadically and guess what - they've ended up with cervical cancer. I will never take that kind of chance with my own health.

Ovarian cancer is also sneaky and deadly. I cannot assess my cysts myself. Maybe men don't need their equipment checked annually, but women do.

I will put it off until it seems like the coast is clear. I have no idea when that is. I'll just say August to pick something.
