We're leaving for Barony on the 17th. My mom's whhelchair is very heavy. Does anyone know if I can rent one somewhere in HH? Thank you.

I don't know for sure, but it's easy to find out. Call the hotel/TS and ask if they have any for rent. If not, ask where you can rent one. If that doesn't work, look on the internet for medical supplies and the town that you're staying in.

I booked a motorized scooter at Polo Towers for my mother last year. It wasn't cheap, but it was very convenient and Mom was mobile. It worked out great. When Mom has visited my house, I've also rented a wheelchair for her for the week.

My mother and family just returned from Barony Beach after I found a 2BR the week of July 20th within the 59 day window with an Aruba Studio.

My dad also needed a wheelchair. They transported his from home.

We called in advance and the front desk staff said they had 2 wheelchairs to borrow on a short term basis only. One of the wheelchairs was a traditional chair. The other one, was for use on the beach. My dad really enjoyed borrowing the one for walks along the beach.

Hope this helps, have a great time, I know they did!

We ordered our bikes from this company but I noticed that they also have baby rentals and wheel chairs. $50/week and they deliver and pickup.

What about those wheelchairs that have the big wheels to go on the beach? We have thought about taking MIL but know we would not be able to push a regular chair thru the sand. It would be a shame to take her an not be able to get her to the beach.

Cost effective (NOT)

$10 for renting a beach towel!

Can you say Wal-Mart?

Thank you all for the info. This is our 1st vacation where we are trying to accomodate special needs and I'm trying to make it go as smooth as possible. I never want my mom to feel that taking her was a burden on any of us because that would make her feel terrible!
