I have not looke a lot over the past year, but I did start spotting properties earlier in the yar that I've normally booked for many year with DRI THE Club points now designated with points+Tier (like 6000pts+Tier4) inventory (Destination Exchange).

I did more searches tonight and noticed some properties, I only see the points+Tier; whereas, others there are both straight pts and pts+Tier inventory (like you can search 7 nights April 2024 Hilton Vacation Club Lake Tahoe Resort).
And when I change the 7 nights to 6 or 8, all the points+Tier inventory disappears.

Has there been a huge change with Hilton taking over?

What I think this is happening, is what you're seeing are members DEPOSITS into the DRI Exchange Program, DeX - Destination Xchange.
Your statement that says all inventory disappears for the same date range if you clip it to six nights as these deposited weeks supports this. These deposited DeX weeks aren't put into the general exchange inventory for that particular DRI Resort, those deposited weeks can only be booked as weeks.

Resorts Owned
HGVC - Kohala Suites, HGVC - Boulevard, HGV - Sedona Summit (deeded weeks), Sheraton Desert Oasis
DRI also puts some of its developer owned inventory into Destination Exchange (DEx). In fact, there are actually 2 DEx programs one for Deeded Week owners (Traditional DEx) and one for Points Owners (DEx). The inventory is VERY different and actually a lot better for deeded week owners. I own both points and weeks, so I know.

For example, Cabo Azul 2 Bedroom blocked View at Tier 4. With my Sedona Summit 2BR LO, I have booked that week in Cabo with the 1 BR side. Same for Point at Poipu. Also, inventory is avaliable for about 18 months out.

I do not fully understand. I get you own Trust points, but are you a deeded weeks owners enrolled in THE Club? And do you have two distinct accounts to log-ins to search - one with your Trust points ownership and a second with your deeded week/THE Club membership?

I think the new setup (keeping deposited weeks as weeks in DeX) means less inventory for Club members using points to book (any number of nights, not just seven) ?

There may be some glitches in the search functionality of the HGV MAX site causing strange results. Last week we were searching to book either Ocean 22 or Ocean Enclave in Myrtle Beach for Feb since at the 6 month window. Strangely, NO options other than DEX were appearing at all. This was a little odd considering the off-season time period, as well as the large capacity of all 3 Hilton properties in Myrtle Beach. When I came back to it a day later, suddenly multiple listings for Ocean Enclave did appear, but still nothing for Ocean 22, which was our first choice even though Ocean Enclave is the newest premier property.

I called and spoke with a rep who confirmed absolutely NO availability at Ocean 22, for 30 days prior and 30 days after our search dates? The rep seemed a little surprised as well, but she was simply searching the same platform data. We thanked her, and decided to book Enclave since there were plenty of options, and this is where things really got strange.

Our search for a 10 day stay yielded many various dates & options. As we were trying to decide a final plan, we modified the search to 7 days to compare details, and in an instant all listings for Ocean Enclave vanished... nothing. We searched a 3 day stay, still nothing. We changed the stay back to our original 10 days and it all magically reappeared. This seems counter-intuitive to what one would expect. Why so many hits for 10 days and ZERO for 7 or less? During our 10 day last Feb at Ocean 22, we were one of the exceptions, as most guests were in and out in less than a week. Even some staff made a fuss about how they liked that we were going to be there "for so long."

We have our 10 day exactly as we wanted except at Enclave, but I think there may be some bugs in the search platform. I'm not convinced there isn't any availability for the entire months of February and March at Ocean 22, only 6 blocks further north.

Wonderful. Is their a way to report this strange behavior? I'd think the last thing a new company wants is to PO existing owners by messing with their ability to book vacation time.
