Has anyone visited Las Vegas recently? Was the experience enjoyable and worth it?
We are thinking of going to Vegas during the cooler months with emphasis on outdoor activities (hiking, sightseeing, road trips) with a few days spent on the strip.
The timeshare would serve as a base to visit the area.
What do you think?

We live here, so are biased, but I would encourage you to visit. There aren’t as many tourists as usual and all of the local things to do are still available- hiking, golf, sightseeing, etc. One thing that isn’t happening yet is the return of major entertainment. I recently read that a few shows will be returning, but I don’t recall the timing. Of course the state of the virus will impact that. Restaurants allow for inside dining with social distancing as well as outdoors if they have the space.

Best regards.

Mike

Not a place I would visit unless driving and staying in a small hotel and avoiding the Strip.

I liked visiting Vegas and The Strip. You can see the pyramids, Italy, impersonators, singing groups, dancers, Evis, Star Wars actors, the wax museum, and before COVID-19, there were some outstanding entertainment and restaurants on the strip.
Also, you can get a chance to experience dry heat temperatures. LOL

Nice! I also think it should be a good place to visit now since there are not many tourists as in normal times.

We started out our trip on 9/9 with a two night stay at Wyndham Desert Blue. From 9/26/-10/3 we stayed at Grandview at Las Vegas next to the Southpointe Casino. Tonight, 10/16,we're staying the night at the La Quinta on Paradise Rd. before heading home tomorrow. The parts of this trip we've spent in Vegas have been nothing like our previous trips. However we weren't expecting it to be.

The week we spent at Grandview my husband walked and swam in the pool for an hour in the mornings. That was the week of the full moon so in the evenings after we ate we would sit by the pool til it closed to watch the moon come up. The pools were kept very clean and we were always able to use the pools when we wanted to. We were looking forward to having lunch at Baja Miguel's at Southpointe as they have really nice lunch specials. However they weren't even open for lunch, just dinner.

Although we didn't do any gambling this trip and there were no shows we did do our mandatory visit to the Bellagio to see the conservatory. It wasn't busy and they limit the number of people entering the conservatory. At at little after 1pm there wasn't a single table game open in the whole big table area next to the lobby. There were only a few people at the slot machines.

Tonight we walked across the street to have dinner at Gordon Biersch. We enjoyed a nice dinner and a couple of beers out on the patio. Normally there's so much traffic on Paradise Rd. that we wouldn't try walking across it nor would we want to eat outside on the patio with the traffic noise. When we left about 9:30 they were starting to close up; on a Friday night in Vegas!

If your main interest in coming to Vegas isn't gambling and shows I don't know why you wouldn't have a nice trip. We still haven't done Bryce Canyon but everyone we've talked to who has highly recommends it.

Your trip does not sound liked Vegas, where were are the tourists, the bus tourists and gamblers in the casinos. We also enjoy strolling in Bellagio to see the conservatory. Your stroll thru the conservatory must have been relaxing compared to your visits years ago.
