What's the chance WKORV will agree?

We have a reservation (exchange) this month for a 2BR 2Bath at WKORV. We now don't need both sides.
I called to request a certain view and the reservation dept told me that we had to talk to II for that. I even told her two years ago I was able to put in a request with WKORV. ( We asked for high floor Black Rock side and we got 3rd flr in the middle. Was ok with me but BH wants pool side.) She said no you have to give that request to II and they call us. I knew it wasn't correct but I called II anyway. II doesn't take the request (we knew that).
My BH thought maybe we could offer the resort the smaller 1BR side if they would give us (guarantee) that we would get a large side 1BR on the pool side with a pool and ocean view unubstructed (maybe 3rd or 4th flr) closer to the ocean.

What do you thinK?
 
No chance. ;)

You have an agreement with II for a particular exchange, and Starwood is not going to change that.

As far as priority for view, you are at the bottom of the totem pole, so my advice is to ask nicely at check-in, but don't expect anything special, and then you won't be disappointed.

BTW - Starwood doesn't even permit owners at their home resort to request a view.

Not what I wanted to hear especially since I was able to put in a request ahead of time last visit.

Within the last year they changed that - now, even owners can only request a building and high or low floor - nothing more specific.

They will not accept requests from II traders - I verified that myself.

My advice is at check-in, ask for a high floor, and NOT to be in building 4 - which has the dreaded highway view. I wouldn't be more specific than that.

Will take your advice and hope we don't get in Bldg 4. But if we do will still be happy just enjoying the nice accommodations, laying on the beach and snorkeling right there are the resort. BH will just have to make do. It is so nice that you share your knowledge with all of us. It is soooo helpful. Thanks again. :wave:
 
Always get a good room

We check in an hour or so early and do our best sweet-talk at the desk and have in our first 5stays over the last five years. Going again in December when we always go before Xmas for seeing the lights and shopping.We live 50 minutes away but go to gain back all our weight loss as Scottsdale has wonderful restaurants. We use a preferred dining card every day and the high prices are then cut in half. Our next trip is December 10 and we hope to get a high floor view room.

Just so you know - WKORV is the Maui resort.
