Got a call from the salesperson who didn't make any sense. There's new information that they need to get to the owners, but it's so big and there would be too many questions so they'll only tell us in one of their meetings! (Is it the sale?)

Has anyone gone?

Got to be talking about the takeover of BlueGreen by Diamond Timeshare Co.

What else could it be ?

Don't forget that we're talking about timeshare salesmen. It could just be the great news that they're entitled to buy even more timeshare weeks at developer pricing for a limited time before the next price increase.

It is a standard strategy (ploy) to get you to "re-load"--that is to buy more. It is purely a way to get you to a sales meeting where they will attempt to convince you that you don't own enough yet to do what you want/deserve.

You decide if you want to evaluate what/how much you own--because the new information will be slanted toward planting a seed of doubt.

You mean . . .

. . . you mean . . .

. . . you're just saying . . .

. . . you mean . . .

. . . that all they're trying to do is to get people to pay big bux to join T. H. E. Club ?

You're jumping the gun a bit. DRI has not purchased Bluegreen at this point. All they have done is trade information and discuss the possibility of a buy out. So Bluegreen owners can't join THE Club through a Bluegreen sales presentation..........yet.

and employees can't talk about the buyout. If they knew for sure it was going to happen, the stock price would be a bit higher. if we all knew for sure it was going to happen at $15, we could buy some up now and make a profit in a few days.

What is the opinion about the DRI buying out BG if it happens?

Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I do not know anything about DRI.

There is another thread that discusses the buyout. I was a Sunterra owner. Sunterra was bought by DRI. I am perfectly happy with the results.

Here is a quote from street talk. It looks like DRI has till Sept 15th to come up with the money to buy Bluegreen.

Street talk said:
This is why Diamond is attempting to buy BXG. Management talent. Look at this person’s resume and reporting structure. What are they thinking??

Questionaire reply on September 12th, 2008 6:40 am:

The operative word is trying. September 15th is looming and the from what I’ve heard, Diamond hasn’t yet put together the financing. If there is no deal, I am sure Bluegreen will demand substantial earnest money for any extension. We shall see…
