The Big Short - I just saw it and it was an amazing story of what happened in 2008.

Spotlight - Great movie where I leaned a lot about newspaper reporting as well as the event they were investigating that I will not comment on.

Star Wars - I saw them all, but was never a big fan. However, this one had the best story and showed that Harrison Ford will rock forever.

Can't say we saw a bad movie because I read all the reviews and will not pay to see a movie if the reviews are bad.

I enjoyed The Big Short also, and The Bridge of Spies.
I haven't gone to the movie theater much this year to see any of the others.

I really enjoyed the movie Room. Both actors (one of them a child) did a great job.

I really wanted to see this movie because I read the book and it was great. But it didn't stay in the theaters long and I haven't been able to find it anywhere (redbox, netflix, amazon).

Favorite: The Martian (did a good job of keeping the tone of the book intact)

Worst: Spectre (wow, did they hire their high school A/V class to write that script? Really terrible. Need a barf icon here.)

Woodlawn was a great movie, and I really enjoyed it as an adult who was old enough to know what was going on in the 60's with desegregation. It is a true story, which makes it really great. Rick is sitting next to me, and he says I really loved it for the theater seating--recliners at a new theater. ;)

Have yet to see Star Wars. We are going next week, when the kids are all back in school. I don't want to watch with a bunch of kids.

I haven't seen any of the films in theaters right now yet so I can't say anything about those.

The Martian was really good.

I loved Chappie. One of my favorite films of all time.

Straight Outta Compton was also very good.

We saw Star Wars, the first time, on opening night. So much fun! Costumes galore, even on the movie theater employees. We go to a theater that sells advanced, assigned, seats. Only way to see a first run movie like this. :D

We saw Star Wars today. It was pretty good. I have seen all of them at some point or another. Saw Episode I the first weekend of its release. Though I am by no means a huge Star Wars fan. I thought the movie had some morning points and had to make sure I didn't nod off in the beginning, but as it got rolling, it started to get better.

Thanks for the replies. I am putting a lot of these on my list to rent. It is amazing the number of different movies that are listed when you google best movies for 2015. Every writers or newspaper review has a different idea or list of movies that I never heard of.

"The year 2015 brought us some real gems like "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Ex Machina," but there were also a lot of clunkers.

We consulted film aggregator Rotten Tomatoes to sort out the worst-reviewed movies of 2015. What did we learn? Remakes aren't always the way to go.

Keep reading to see the worst films of the year..."

Wow. I can not believe anyone thinks Star Wars was any good. IMHO The story line was horrible, acting was mediocre and the last 5 minutes was part of my life I will never get back. At 61, I cant afford to lose any minutes. Leonardo DiCaprio in Revenant, now that's a movie.

Star Wars was great----I enjoyed it immensely. The hype and anticipation made it even better. But mostly it was just pure fun, especially if anyone also enjoyed it decades ago, like me. The understated humor in the movie was as hilarious as before, and maybe the best part for me. I was never a fanatic of this genre (& never watched Star Trek, imagine that), but it was still entertaining--- mere escapism, as science fiction is---- with extraordinary special effects.

The rest of the universe ('scuse the pun) seemed to think it was pretty good, too, if being the 3rd highest-grossing movie of all time has anything to do with it.

In light of your comment about your wasted time, you'll probably want to skip my posts here.

I see you own in Vegas---now THERE'S a place to spend some quality time.

I just saw The Revenant (DH's choice) and I didn't like it, nor did he. It is bloody, and violent, and in my opinion, not much in the way of plot.

Also - I will just say that I found the "survival" aspect of the movie to be very unlikely.

*I liked Star Wars very much, and I'm looking forward to the other movies.

Maybe you didn't like it because it was based on a true story in a time when people were much stronger than they are now. which is why it might be hard to believe.

The Revenant has received numerous award nominations and wins, including winning three Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director and Best Actor – Drama, as well as a nomination for Best Original Score

This is a movie I have no desire to see. I don't want to see Hateful Eight either.

Just saw Joy today. Love the cast, but liked Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle better.

Saw the preview for the new Coen brothers movie, Hail, Caesar. Now that is one I'll definitely see.

No, common sense made it hard to believe: The main character spent an extended amount of time fully submersed in a freezing river, in snowy weather, with no dry clothes or shelter, and did not die of hypothermia.
