We'll be in Charleston one day and overnight before flying the next morning following a week's stay at HHI.

We presently have only a short list of things to do and see. Recommendations, anyone?

Also need a suggestion of where to stay for one night cheaply. Not opposed to Motel 6-like place if it is clean and easily accessable to either the airport or places to see and dine.

By the way, where is the airport? Near the city? I don't have an area map handy.

Can't believe you are flying from Charleston to HH. Not a long drive. Take a carriage tour of old Charleston., and the slave market for shopping. Go to Magnolia Gardens. Go on a walking tour. Take the boat to Ft Sumter. It's a great experience. shaggy

Correct.

Flew into Savannah and drove to HHI on previous trips, but with a last minute exchange couldn't snag good connections at a good price. :(

Tuggers might keep in mind that, at least in our limited experience, there was plenty of availability in and out of Charleston after good connections and pricing to Savannah had disappeared.

Thanks, Shaggy. Will add these to our list from which to choose.

Geez, don't beat me, it's the same distance if you fly from HH to Charleston or Charleston to HH.  I for one can not drive long distances due to my bad foot/feet/legs or whatever you call those 2 limbs than hang from your knees ( I think I got it all covered)  It's just I can drive that one, but to each his own, heck if I had the money I'd pay for a chauffeur.

You will have no shortage to do in Charleston, you can even tour boats at I believe it's called Patriots POint. shaggy
