New member here. Looks like we will be using 4600 out of our 4800 points. Do we just let the other 200 expire? It means we'd have enough for an extra gold or silver season night the following year (in a 1 bedroom in SC or FL, our usual travel destinations), but it looks like open season nightly rates there are less than the point stretching fee.

You could always borrow next year's points and take another vacation this year (if possible), maybe for a long weekend. Or if you can't, do you have a family member or friend could give them 3 nights this year borrowing a handful of points from next year. I've done that a few times and just had them reimburse me for the booking/guest certificate fee. A couple have also offered to reimbursed me for the proportional maintenance fee but I don't ask for that. I usually like to finish the year borrowing a bit from next year's points for this reason.

Forgot to mention we are EOY, so we are borrowing from our points years to travel on nonpoints years. So we are borrowing from 2022 to travel in 2021. In 2022 we have VIP points to spend (we bought VIP before buying resale), but I don't think I can combine those, right?

No, you can't combine 'em.
Those 200 points can get you 1 day on a Studio. or a larger TS.
if you can add'em to others.
... 'cuz the fee is still less than 1N a hotel room
