What Rental Car Companies Are ON SITE at the Orlando Airport??

Last year we flew into Orlando and rented a car. I had checked the airport website to see which companies are actually located AT THE AIRPORT (not a shuttle to another lot). It listed Budget, so I booked with them. When we arrived we found they are not located on site but a short distance away by shuttle. This was OK on the way out, but we were totally lost trying to bring our car back and barely made our flight because we could not find the depot to drop it off at! We are going back again this year, and I would like to pick up and return the car right at the airport, no shuttles involved. Other than Budget, www.orlandoairports.net lists the following companies as "on airport rental car companies":Alamo, Avis, Dollar, E-Z Rent A Car, L & m Car Rental and National. Can anyone tell me who is really located at the airport? Thanks!

Avis, definitely. I've never paid attention to the others, sorry.

I always use National, which is on site. I don't like doing the shuttle thing either.

There are a few others as well, but I don't definitely know which ones they are right off the top of my head.

On site ones are much more expensive. We booked on site because we're going with our elderly parents. Use Orbitz - I always use them for cars - they are very reliable. :)

Alamo is on site. We found them to be the cheapest and we had a coupon from the entertainment book.
Good luck,
Sandra

Alamo is at the airport, right next to National (same company). If you go to Costco's website, then to Travel > Rental Cars > Alamo > $20 off, it will redirect you to Alamo and the Costco discount codes will appear in those little boxes.

Costco's rental car prices are outstanding, but I have to try every day to get the best rates. I rented a full-sized car in Tampa for 9/15-9/29 for $202 including taxes. 15 days for $202 is a pretty great price. :whoopie:

if you belong to Sam's Club you will get a good discount. Alamo and National lets you pick the car for want ever catagory you rented. This week of July 17-25 I ended up with a Buick loaded lucerne for a total $232 with taxes.

We don't have Costco around us and I have never been to one. I know that it is a warehouse store (like Sam's?). Do you need to be a member in order to get the car rental discounts?

They never ask at the rental place when you go. As a matter of fact, the kiosk is the fastest way to pick up the car, and the automated kiosk sure doesn't ask for a Costco card. As a matter of fact, it just asks for your driver's license and a credit card, looks up your reservation, has you confirm it, then you are on your way. I like being able to pick out any car I want, and the last three trips, Rick and I have been lucky to find Priuses in the lot.

So I could about guarantee that not having a Costco membership wouldn't be a problem. :)

L&M is on site and has some of the lowest rates, they also have a coupon on there site for $10 or $15 off. They always have good cars also, dont be scared to use them because they dont have the big name like Avis or Hertz, I have used them alot.
