We're watching the first episode (pilot?) of Touch on TV, and parts of it are reminding me of two movies/programs/books, but I can't remember what they are.

1. A movie a few years ago, in which a young girl has visions of the future...I'm picturing something about a time capsule buried in or under a school, and a closet at the bottom of the stairs.....I think she was a savant or had some special gift like Jake in Touch.
edited to add: ***solved*** it was "Knowing"

2. A book or program or movie in which a child (autistic I think) kept climbing to the top of a tower - cell or other type of tower - and police/fire dept would come out to get him down, and the parent/dad would either talk him down or go up and carry him down.
**still unsolved**

Can anyone help?

It is so frustrating to have these little kernels in my brain and not be able to remember where they came from!

Nope, but thanks for trying. I found it on Google; it was "Knowing".

That leaves us with the other one, the book/movie/program in which a child (autistic?) kept climbing to the top of a tower. Maybe Touch is based on that?

No, Touch is original programming created by the same person who did Heroes. Caught the review on NPR this afternoon. After being burned by Heroes, which was good the first season, okay the second and unwatchable after that, I'm not willing to invest my teevee time with this guy.

I remember the movie ONLY because of Leonardo DiCaprio's performance. He was still in his teens then and I was blown away with how authentic he was.

also very similar to, "MERCURY RISING " with Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin.. about an autistic boy who finds a secret code in a numbers puzzle book.

Thanks! I don't think I've seen that, but I'll put it on my list!
