What is the best II trade you’ve made using Destinations Points (II Code MZC)

What is the best Interval Intl trade you’ve made using your Destinations Points as the trader (II Code MZC)?

I’ve done some searches and other than a handful of non-all inclusive luxury Mexico resorts, I have not come across many luxury (or Marriott level) properties available making the trade.

I am interested to hear of the experiences that Tuggers have had with this. We own DC points, but haven’t tried to trade them via II. My initial reaction is that they are too valuable, and expensive, to use them that way, so we have only used them within the DC program. Of course, that would depend on the exchange one is able to make with them.

Best regards.

I have used the DC points once (II Code MZC) to trade into a 1br for 1 week at the non-all inclusive Vidanta Grand Luxxe property (which in my opinion is a 5+ star property) and was well worth the 3000 DC points used.

The problem is that it appears there are very very few high end (Marriott style and better) properties ever available (other than all inclusive - which is not a good use of points) using a trade of DC points (II Code MZC). For example, I just ran a search for 7/1/20-12/28/21.

I’d certainly be interested to find out what high end (Marriott style and better) properties are available on II (II premier properties) using a different type of MVCI trader (including an inexpensive eBay purchase for trading purposes only) for the same dates as an example.

I just did a search using my Marriott Grande Vista 2 bedroom, remember instant match searches like these only see what no one else wanted or had a request in for so if you do a deposit first you will likely get better options. There are several Marriott's available (Aruba Surf Club June/July/Dec, Marriott Kauai Beach Club XMAS, Grande Luxe Nuevo Vallarta pretty much anytime of the year mostly studios but some 1 and 2 bedrooms, Marriott St Kitts, Marriott St Thomas 2 bedroom May, Westin Lagunamar april to november,.. There are just too many options but that is what I just saw.

I just do not believe using points in II is worth it, unless that is all you have.

MZC (Destinations Points) will not pull other Marriott Properties in an II search (Getaways yes, but not trades).

Also, I personally would never deposit unless there was a guaranteed (instant) match for a date certain.

I know this isn’t exactly what you are asking, but I recently had DP points that would expire at the end of the year that I couldn’t use in time so I chose the option to have Marriott deposit them as a week into my II account. I had 1750 points deposited as a high season (TDI 115-135) studio good for 2 years.
I’ve done a little manual searching using this unit and it seems similar to a premiere Marriott unit I own in the same TDI season (other than not showing the Marriotts of course). I see plenty of options to pay the upsize fee, I can see premiere Kauai 1 br in early June, select Maui in early August, lots of premiere Caribbean at lower TDI (May- August), select in early winter. I can manually exchange into a 2Br elite resort in an easy location-Sheraton visitana village in Orlando pretty much any time. If I plan in advance and get in an early request I expect this should exchange quite well.

We did not dip into our points balance for an II trade, but did convert a bonus 5 night certificate into a wonderful weekend(3 nights) in downtown Nashville at a groovy little boutique hotel just off lower Broadway. I was told by II that I could indeed do the same thing with DP,but we never discussed amounts.
