I've been watching the Dell daily deals for both home and small business. I was looking for a desktop for home and a laptop for my son. I haven't bought a computer in a couple of years now so I'm out of touch with pricing and features.

The computer would not be used for anything intense - just internet and word processing. For the laptop, however, my son is writing a book so probably would be using the keyboard extensively.

Here's the Inspiron 1525 info:

Thanks for the link. The review was helpful. I had read a similar one earlier today.

My question then is whether the price is good based on the features included in this offer. As I said, I'm a bit out of touch.

I appreciate any advice!

I have a new 1525 that my son bought me last month. He got tired of me complaining about my desktop and said that for what I use the computer for(internet & email) the 1525 is more than sufficent. He had a pink 1525 sent to the house. I love it!!!

He is in the software field and has a CS degree from Stanford...so I respect his decision on all things computer related!

Thanks for the info, Susan! I love all the colors but I don't think my son would like pink. I'm leaning toward the midnight blue. :D
