Greetings all:

We've owned for several years at Ocean Watch, and have used it every year!! We love it. I recently bought an EOY even at BeachPlace Towers (gold, via ebay). It just got registered on Marriott and Interval, and BPT shows up on Interval as one of "Marriott's Florida Club". There are four or five other Florida resorts under this heading.

So what is Florida Club? Did I buy something other/in addition to BPT??? Are these resorts "connected" in some way??? Or is it just listed this way in II??

Thanks - still a novice at all this

Wesley

PS - I've never traded before - but taking a cue from this board, I went to II and entered a fake reservation # for a 2009 gold BPT week (also tried with a gold week 2010 week, the year I actually "own"). I entered eight digits starting with an 8. I can't get anywhere. II tells me I have an "incorrect unit number" even though I am pretty sure that 210 is a good unit number for BPT. Since I've never traded before, I was just trying to look at what a hypothetical week might pull. Why can't I make this work??? Am I missing a step?? (I DO NOT YET HAVE A REAL MARRIOTT RESERVATION BECAUSE I AM AN EVEN YEAR OWNER)

Wesley- Where are you looking that you are entering a unit number? I have only seen it ask me to select the week exchanging, the exchange date and the reservation number (which is where you enter an 8 digit number beginning with 8, such as 87654321). That should allow you to search for available excahnges at the moment.

my answer to M63176

When I follow the directions I got from TUG, ie:
Click on the EXCHANGE tabb on the home page
Click on VIEW MY UNITS
CLICK ON "EXCHANGE" NEXT TO MY FLORIDA CLUB UNIT

then on the next screen I see "reservation number" Unit number, number of bedrooms, date...

Am I in the wrong place on the II website??

You're in the right place. Unit #s for BPT are:

TOGV for efficiency, and TOMV for 1BR. Sorry, I don't know the code for the 2BR.

Sorry- I guess it is different for Florida Club exchanges. On non-Florida Club exchanges there is a drop-down menu for unit size, and you simply need to highlight the studio,1 or 2 BR unit.

Try ZZAA for the 2 BR.

The unit to use is in this thread:

http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89273

You will then have the option to select the type of unit you are depositing. 2BR, 1BR or efficiency.

The Florida Club can be a handy thing to have if you want to visit one of the other 4 properties and not pay the exchange fee through II. It only costs you a few dollars more each year when you pay your MF to Marriott. Though you can only book at the other FC resorts at six months out. All FC units show as you describe on the II website.

This thread gives you codes for all five Florida Club properties and explains the process (post 13) on how to book a week on II's website at any of them. It is basically a couple of extra steps verses those who are not members of Florida Club.

I have actually checked on availability (but have not booked) at other resorts at 6 months out and have found that good weeks can be had. Ocean Pointe is gold in the summer months while its sister property, Oceana Palms, and your resort, BeachPlace, are platinum. So getting a good summer week at Ocean Pointe would essentially be an upgrade for you. Of course there are great gold weeks at Grand Vista, Legends Edge and Doral as well.
