What chance SFX or RCI can get Worldmark Cairns?

SFX just got me Grand Mayan Cabos for next year, so I'm thinking of giving them another deposit of a pretty-good Florida week that I usually give to RCI.

Target is an Australia trip for Aug or Sep 2010. SFX lists Worldmark Cairns as one of their properties. Do you think I can get it? More likely in SFX or RCI?

Confirmation into any Mayan resort in Mexico is a totally different task. I would not take it for granted that Worldmark Cairns, or for that matter any Worldmark resort "is one of their properties" just because it maybe listed on SFX website. One should not stretch the affiliation concept applicable to RCI and/or Interval to include minor exchange operators. If you want an exchange into an Australian destination you should first target DAE. Unlike SFX DAE also accepts requests without a prior deposit.

I actually think this should be likely. There are many Worldmark owners who belong to SFX. SFX would simply need to request that one of these owners reserve the week in question and deposit. Seems easy enough.

Dial an Exchange has a sister company in Australia and gets a ton of inventory there. Run a search on their website to get an idea. There's nothing yet for Sept 2010, but look how much they have for Sept 2009 - and those are the leftovers that no one is searching for! You can search the website without joining. http://www.daelive.com/search/default.aspx You do have to join to put in a request, but it's free. I would call and talk with someone about which resorts/locations are likely to come available. Worldmark Cairns might not be one of them.
