I have three points units I bought on the resale market a while back. I've recently moved out West and there are limited options. I'm considering if I should dump 1 or 2 of them. The units are Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach, and Lake Geneva. At the same time I'm looking at pickup up a Hyatt Pinon Pointe resort. They have more options in CO and AZ. In researching these, I note that with Hyatt, I lose the benefit of being able to transfer points to their World Of Hyatt program. That made me ask, are there any benefits I lose when buying these points from HICV on resale. I know I don't get elite status, but beyond that are there any benefits I'm losing as a resale buyer of points properties?

The same benefits you didnt get when you bought are the same the benefits the next buyer will get. Status Levels are the main thing. How many points at each do you own?

Not really limited if you take into consideration RCI. That's 5000 other locations.
Using your points from HICV on our online websight there is a link to RCI it converts for you. It's a 2 to 1 ratio if you see a RCI vacation for example 75,000 RCI points would take 150,000 HICV points.

150K at South Beach, 107K at Smoky Mountain and 15K at Lake Geneva. Not sure if its worth the hassle to give back the Lake Geneva. Its MF are $120 per year.

Why would you have bought the Lake Geneva?
Normally that was one they made one buy to bring other weeks to the point system back in the day.

The south beach is worth the most, and most likely to be taken back if goes to low.
Than Gatlinburg

It was $1 and they covered closing costs.

I would recommend you offer them all together to get best value back. If south beach is a yearley, you could be looking at $2500-$3000 for it. Gatlinburg should be 1b Diamond, and MFs ratio are probably higher than Lake Geneva, but you can still get $1200-$2000 for that one. Lake Geneva you can give back to Horizons if you are unable to sell, but again, I would try to sell all together.

Join the FB HICV group and ask for pricing there or even list them for sale there. Many are looking to add points there.

Good luck!

Thanks Tony. I will do that. I don't want to sell all three. Thinking I will keep South Beach.
