Myself, I like to play poker. Doesn't much matter which variant. Texas Hold'Em, Stud, 5-Card Draw, Omaha (not the Peyton Manning Omaha), doesn't matter. In fact I own a small business that sells poker to bars as a promotion which has been shut down. Since I can't go to the bars I've been playing online.

While driving past one of the casinos here in Rancho Mirage, CA I was giving thought to the many who seem to make near daily visits to casinos. I had wondered if perhaps they had turned to online gambling. That thought scares me for people who don't manage their habit very well.

I had horses ever since I got my first job. Some free, some I bought, some I bred. My son is named after the vet cause my horse and I were pregnant at the same time. This is my latest pony for my 5 grandchildren. My favorites are now buried in the backyard. I can’t go through the heartbreak anymore. Now my hobby, besides travel, is photography. I am obsessed. I enter contests and win some ribbons. The past month I have been struggling to learn Photoshop. Next, I have a banjo in the closet I want to learn to play. We love bluegrass music.

I hope your sons name isn’t Seabiscuit, Secretariat, or Justify

That would be cool and weird at the same time

Part of my life was spent on a place that was used to train 1/4 horses
We had a 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile track around the property
My brother and I raced more cars and motorcycles on it than any horses

There's 2 styles of poker: Cash & Tournament. In Cash games your chips represent actual money that's being bet. If you run out of chips you can simply buy more and keep playing. I don't play that style. You can lose too much money that way. In Tournaments you "buy in" for a specified amount, your given a set amount of chips that matches everyone else in the tournament. When you run out of chips you're out of the tournament. That's the style I play. It limits your cost and losses. The sites I play at are subscription based. I pay a set fee monthly (between $20-$25) and can play any of the tournaments they have scheduled. This way I can get my fix and not put the mortgage at risk.

I have two miniature wirehaired dachshunds who I do field sports with, mostly field trials (dachshund are run on rabbit). Phoenix, the older dog at 3 years old, earned her Field Trial Championship this season. She also earned the title of Hunting Hound, hunting in a pack of four mini dachshunds. Ash, the younger dog who is 13 months old, started field trialing too, in Jan of this year. She had a few placements and earned enough points to be about 25% of the way towards her field championship. I also do a little scent training with both dogs.

I am also an avid cyclist, and I ride around 100 miles per week. I train with a coach and formerly raced a kind of race called a time trial. Last year I qualified to race at the National Senior Games (an Olympics style event for people over 50), where I won gold medals in both of my races. That was cool. I also ride road bikes and mountain bikes for fun. The pic is me & my cycling coach with our TT medals in New Mexico (where we raced). We have the same kind of TT bike (lol I got mine first and coach copied me).

I am also an avid cook. I pretty much cook most things. But in these days of COVID lockdown I’ve been doing lots of baking.

Forgot to post my interest. Music! I listen to music just about anytime of the day. I just purchased a great new speaker system to enhance my enjoyment of music in my primary quiet/ music listening room (no TV there).
It’s also very calming and therapeutic in these stressful times!

To the OP, loved your bikes pictures and that 69 Camaro. Wow! You can look; but you better not touch. LOL.

I also forgot my to post my interest painting landscape in watercolors or oil and listening to music.

Wow those look great. Do you need a special break maker to bake breads like that? I hear that yeast is in short supply in these SIP times!

No, they are not made in a machine! They are hand made.

I have a friend who caters meals for school lunches. He has transformed his business into precooked meals and uncooked ingredients for the families of the schools he serves. He’ll order me some wholesale items. So: I am well supplied, I have a pound of yeast, 40+ pounds of All purpose flour and around 20 pounds of whole wheat flour. I couldn’t find any of these items in stores, so I am lucky. I have been distributing to friends as needed!

I knit and crochet prayer shawls and have made about 300 over the last 10 years. If you're not familiar with them, the idea is that recipients who need support and comfort, such as during illness or the loss of a loved one, receive a shawl as a tangible reminder that someone cares about them. Our church has an active ministry and prior to the pandemic had been giving out nearly one a day for several years. The shawl makers work independently, our church office stores the supply of shawls and gives or mails them to people who need. We also had been meeting monthly to pray for recipients (by first name only to respect people's privacy). Hearing all the reasons people received shawls reminds me to be thankful for all the blessings in my life. I enjoy the process of making something by hand and love knowing it will go to help someone who needs comfort.

Love the cars and bikes !!! I saw a 67 Firebird on the Mapple Motors website that I think I want. Currently, I'm into Jeeps and wheeling through the mountains. Fired up the KLR 650 last week for when the snow melts.

It turns out my hobbies are eating out, going to the theater and movies, and touching my face. :D

I read a lot, I write, I cook a lot, I make bread that doesn't look nearly as good as Heathpack's bread.

Nice
I wish we lived somewhere more Jeep / off-road friendly but unfortunately we moved to live on a sandbar
Had a Jeep a few years ago but sold it to buy a truck that could pull my bikes in their enclosed trailer easier
Jeep did the job but it didn’t like the weight so much
Wish I had just thrown a turbo in the Jeep. Miss that vehicle probably the most out of all the ones I’ve had over the years

Bread looks like it’s out of a book!! Nice!

The pic of the dogs also looks like it could have been in a field and stream mag

I take line dancing lessons twice a week...or I did before this. I don't go out anywhere to line dance, other than class, but it's great exercise and I love the people I dance with. I'm just finishing up my first year of Italian at the College of Charleston. If we are to still be around home in the fall, I'll start the second year though I'd rather be in Italy! I read, more listening now to books. I'm trying to discover who my biological father was via DNA testing and the various online sites. And I care for my 98 yr old mother who lives with us. In the past I used to paint seascapes and birds and do needlework.

I am an avid hiker, and I like crafts - mostly sewing and refinishing furniture. I also love to redecorate my house (much to my husband's chagrin). And of course, travel.

Between closed trails and tourist destinations it's been a bit boring lately. But I am almost done with my latest furniture refinishing project. Photos will be coming soon.
