Hospitality Tax and Environmental Tax
The State of Quintana Roo assesses a hospitality tax that is due upon check-out:
  • Studio Premium Villa: USD$5.74 per night
  • One-Bedroom Premium Villa: USD$9.70 per night
  • Two-Bedroom Lockoff Villa: USD$15.44 per night
Effective February 1, 2023, the State of Quintana Roo implemented an environmental and sanitation tax. This nightly tax of $76 MXN pesos up to $152 MXN pesos per room per day will be based on the type of villa occupied and billed in pesos directly to your folio.

These taxes are subject to currency conversion with your banking institution and subject to change.

Also, is there not a per night environmental tax? How much is that for a 1BR villa?

This info is from the Vistana Lagunamar reservation details. There is a link on your confirmation. Read the whole post - the environmental fee is listed.

Thanks. The hospitality tax rate is listed. The Environmental tax rate is not listed. (I have a prospective renter who wants to know.)

$152 pesos is about $7.45 USD.

I looked on my old folio

The environmental fee is the same for all unit sizes. Back in 2022 it was 28.87 pesos.

The hospitality tax depends on the unit size. It was 82.28 pesos for a 1BD and 48.68 for a studio, (in 2022)
