What a difference a month makes in world of Covid-19

Was reading the post where it was asked whether any Tuggers/friends/family were ill with virus. I've kept up with it almost daily. Early on, for the most part seemed like our little group was being spared the disease. After reading most recent accounts of personal tragedy, it has definitely started to hit closer to home.

Do I dare ask, are there others like me who have yet to be impacted? As far as I know, I don't know anyone who has tested positive,

I started that other thread, back when this whole thing started. The tidal wave of infection in some areas has been incredible, which is why I keep updating the numbers from my state every ten days or so. Nobody in my immediate family has it, but in the extended family and friends, a few have or had it. So far, nobody I know of directly has succumbed from it. My ex-wife is the closest one I know personally who had it. She caught it early-on, and has recovered from it, but still is weekend by its effects.

No one that we know personally has been infected as yet or as far as we know. I hear friends of ours who have friends elsewhere....but no, not directly yet. That certainly doesn't change how I feel about social distancing or the risks ahead.

AFAIK we are all well, though with recent data showing that up to 50% of those infected with coronavirus are asymptomatic, and the fact that we have had a lot of hay fever type allergy symptoms in our household over the past couple of weeks - who really knows for sure. This is why the antibodies test kits will become ever more important moving forward.

I do now know a few people who have been infected - some have actual test results - others weren’t tested but are next to certain they had COVID-19 based upon symptoms and remote diagnosis from their PCP. I also know several people who have been tested due to symptoms but the tests came back negative.

There are people who are still out there claiming H1N1 was much worse. What is the motivation for this. My cousin and his daughter are hospi with it, and his sister is proclaiming this

I think it's just in some people's nature to claim certain things were worse 'back when/for them.' My DH happens to be one that does this a lot. It was colder when he was younger, the blizzard was worse, etc etc. His daughter gets mad because no matter what she experienced, dad had it worse (according to dad).

I feel blessed to say no one in my family at this point has COVID-19 and 2 of my 3 adult children work in healthcare.

No one in my family or friends circle has it. I do know a few people who had symptoms but tested negative. I do not know anyone who has tested positive.

Still no one in my family or direct circle of friends. The only positive cases, and deaths, are the two I already reported, father of a friend and fil of another friend.

No one in my immediate circle but looking back I believe some of them already had it but didn’t know. My sisters friend got it and recovered but her neighbors nephew passed away from it.

Nobody in our families has had it as far as we know. One of my sisters near Placerville, CA was tested but it came back negative. The only person that we have heard of dying from it was a friend of my DW’s boss. He was about 50 years old, in good health. My DW’s sister has been impacted financially as the small business she works for is closed down. She isn’t sure if they will reopen when allowed to do so. Of course the financial hardship and all the stress that comes with the potential or actual loss of a job is being felt by an enormous amount of people.

I know we all look forward to things changing for the positive.

I currently work with a coworker who tested positive and recovered, returned to work Monday. We also had two co.workers pass due to CV-19 at our mail processing plant. Shut down 1 day for cleaning all essential workers here. Pray for all essential workers everywhere please. Thanks, stay safe out there. AL

Essential workers have been our lifeline. You all deserve so much more then our prayers. Prayers I will continue making for all and their families.
