What’s the first meal you are going to have as soon as you visit your resort?

I know what I am going to have...

I’m going to the grocery store and pick up a bunch of nice T Bone steaks. Then, over to produce to get those baby potatoes and let’s not forget the mushrooms and asparagus. Let’s not forget that Caesar Salad in a bag. Yup, a 6 pack of Bud, please right out of the cooler.

Then, I’m taking those babies to a nice, clean BBQ grill located by the pool. On they go and off I go cracking that wobbly pop while admiring the Ocean.

Nope. No mask on my face with the head shield. I’ll stay clear and mind my babies on the BBQ slow cooking.

If all is clear, I might even chat with the BBQ master next to me.

Aw, yes.

So, what wonderful meal do you dream of making the next time you visit your resort after this garbage is over?

What? No one wants chicken?

Gotta admit. Fresh catch of the day will be on day 2.

Formerly: Marriott, ILX, Westin, Diamond, Worldmark. Timeshare free as of 12/24.
Cooking? At a timeshare after being cooped up? No way! We just cancelled a week at Pismo Beach early June since we go all the time and I do not have the temperament to deal with what I suspect will be "partial" open by then. Not going away just to bring take out food to my room. Will be more fun to go to sit down restaurants and the beach and shopping in our own area if some/all of those things are up and running. But honestly, no plan to join any crowds for several weeks after they start opening back up. Our area had several dozen new covid cases between Tuesday and Wednesday. Not to mention the penitentiary on Terminal Island with hundreds of sick people; it is the largest outbreak in the federal penal system. We are hoping for four days in Big Bear for my June 30 half birthday celebration -- then dinner will probably be pizza at Maggio's, or a meal at the Nepalese restaurant if they survived the shut down. Only two hours away, so I'd consider the mountains for a few days (always bring German sausage anyway) even if restaurants are take out only. Would be a good change of scenery for us.

I'll be in Japan, not sure Tepon Edo or Taste of Tokyo. No way I'm grilling - I do that at home.

Bottle of wine, cioppino soup and sourdough bread from the local fish market in La Jolla. All on the balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean....

Our starter will be a couple 16oz pints of Modern Times IPA(from a growler).

Hopefully this will be in July.

I assume Florida will be my next trip, not sure which place first.

Key West
Eatons Fish Market- Shrimp, the best anywhere and their snapper. I will cook in my unit, no problem
Moon Dog cafe to eat their tacos and to take out their gluten free blueberry muffins

Disney
Saratoga food court - gluten free lobster roll and chocolate fudge cake
Disney Epcot Coral Reef Restaurant - love watching the fish and divers, love all their gluten free food

Marco Island
Cafe de Marco - scalloped potato’s and jumbo prawns
outdoor farmers market - the best tomato’s and strawberries

This question made me hungry and made my mouth water. Right now I can just dream about these yummy foods

Who want grill chicken, when you can have prime rib or a 4 inch rib eye steak,
a baked potato loaded with sour cream, butter, bacon bites and a cold beer.
Oh I forgot, I need to add a green vegetable to keep my Commander in Chief. Happy.

In Hawaii: Fresh Hawaiian Poke and a Mai Tai on the lanai overlooking the ocean (Westin Maui OF or Lagoon Tower OF Maui)
Day 2: Marugame Udon in Waikiki

Cabo: Fish Tacos, Guac and a Margarita overlooking the beach.

It doesn't get any better than this...

Your post brings back memories...DW and I dined at Cafe de Marco on our honeymoon in 1993 after a long day on wave runners. I remember having the special-jumbo gulf prawns that were incredible and expensive for us newlyweds. The waiter said we got three huge prawns with it. I figured ok why not and it was a memorable meal. He wasn't kidding.

We were in Florida on our way back from Cancun. Being big Carl Hiaason fans we had to drive Alligator Alley and check out a few places. We also spent some time in Islamorada in the Keys.

Thanks for bringing back a great memory. I mentioned this to DW and she still remembers the meal too. Someday we will return. Unfortunately it's a long way from Silicon Valley.

A restaurant won't make this:
Pork loin roast, stuffed w-apricot preserves & wrapped in apple bacon.
