What’s special about Margaritaville resorts?

A new Margaritaville resort recently opened on Lake Conroe north of Houston and received some notice in local media. It’s not a very long drive from where we live, and I was wondering what differentiates them from other resorts, just in case we might want to book there if we had an opportunity.

I do not believe that Margaritaville is part of the Margaritaville Vacation Club so you wouldn't be able to use your points to stay there. For the ones that are, the rooms have different decor. I know the ones in Saint Thomas and Rio Mar were you a Margarita at check-in.

You don't get a margarita on check in at the one in Nashville. They do serve a wide variety of margaritas in the bar/restaurant there, but they were all from mixes. IMHO the ones I get at other resorts I go to in Mexico are much better (made with fresh squeezed limes, etc.).

Don't most of them also have a Margaritaville machine in the room so you can make your own?

I forgot about that. I know St Thomas and Rio Mar do, but not sure about the others.

Nashville had the Margaritaville blenders.

Thanks, all! Sounds like, other than being shiny new compared to the older resorts near Lake Conroe, there’s nothing to pull us there.

Do the in-room blenders include mix and other ingredients for margaritas, like in-room coffeemakers come with coffee?

That would be wishful thinking. But you pay and have tequila and mix delivered via room service. But I am a bit of margarita snob and hate nearly all of those mixes.

Sounds like you may have had a few to many?
Margaritas? I tried liking them but just couldn't get there. Daiquiris are better in my opinion. Also, no story that starts with Tequila has a good ending. lol

I am with you on this one. I have a Margaritaville Machine at home, but I use it to make Frozen Daiquiris way way more than margaritas. I like Rum much better than Tequila.

the only time I like tequila better than rum is as a straight shot. Rum wins as a mixer in any cocktail hands down. Rum is NOT good for shooting though!!

:ROFLMAO: It’s funny to me that this has turned into a tequila vs. rum, margarita vs. daiquiri thread! I’m a mojito fan myself!

I actually really like mojitos with anejo tequila Like the previous poster said tequila is better for shooting and i figure if I'm shooting it when I get a mixed drink its probably better to stay with the same type of liquor
