What’s open and closed after the hurrcaines

“When the Caribbean took a one-two punch from hurricanes Irma and Maria, the obvious question from travel advisers and their clients is: What's next? What's open, and what can we expect for travel to the region?
The good news: Many islands were untouched by either storm, and many that took a glancing blow or sustained minimal damage are open. All of the Islands that sustained heavy damage are well into recovery and rebuilding operations. Several have reopened to tourism faster than expected.
Travel Weekly has undertaken the mission of providing as much updated information as we can here about what's open and closed in the Caribbean.
As of late May, progress has been made throughout the region. According to the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, more than 50% of the CHTA-member hotels on the most severely affected islands have reopened, and more are on the way. Overall visitor numbers for the Caribbean were strong in 2017. Residents of tourism areas of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are welcoming visitors.
Along with a major update to the countries primarily affected by the storms -- Anguilla, Barbuda, Dominica, Puerto Rico, St. Barts, St. Maarten/Martin and the Virgin Islands -- we have stopped listing information for islands that reported moderate damage from the storms, as those destinations are either fully or almost recovered.
If you see something on this list that should be changed, please email the editors here....”
