Does the ferry have a certain schedule for a Friday or Saturday arrival and departure from STT? Thanks.

It has the same schedule for everyday. I don't have them handy, but essentially the most reasonable times. If you need to get from WSJ to STT early that can be a problem. The ferry price just increased (to around ~$85pp RT).

They're pretty good at figuring when the most important flights come into St Thomas. We had about a one hour wait - and you can sit in a nearby restaurant by the dock and have a bite or a drink while you wait.

Do timeshare owners get a discount on the ferry or does everybody pay the same? Thanks.

Yes - Owners get a discount. Taking the public ferries/taxis is a lot less expensive. Also, you can rent cars (4WD) on STT and take car ferry across at RedHook. or you can rent in Cruz Bay or at the Westin - or you can taxi it. Lots of options - at a variety of costs.

Picture this - after a long plane trip - arriving at STT. The first thing that hits you is a wall of heat/humidity - you have to deal with your luggage at a carousal that sometimes is broken. Get the bags- the loved ones - and get in a public taxi/bus either to CA (doesn't run often) or RedHook - take bags/loved ones - and then wait on the ferry - get across to Cruz Bay - unload bags/loved ones - and either get a rental in Cruz Bay and make it to WSJ (driving on the left on bumpy/narrow roads) - or get in a taxi/bus and get over to WSJ- AND repeat for the way back.

Or you can take the Westin ferry - drop your bags off at the office at STT - - take their taxi/bus to their ferry - and have the ferry take you directly to WSJ dock. and your bags are delivered to your room

We have done both - we take the Westin Ferry and rent a 4WD at the Westin - it is money well-spent unless you are on a serious budget.

Ferry and taxi rates are on VINOW.com

David,

We did that exact scenario a few weeks ago with the public taxis and the Red Hook Ferry:wall: When we return next year as Westin owners, we will definitely do the Westin Ferry. I was just wanting to know if the owners (vs. hotel guests) got any kind of a discount on the RT ferry ride. Any other perks I need to know about? Thanks!

I attempted to attach the document I have regarding the WSJ ferry - with no success - so I copied below. The Owners cost was $72pp, but I received notice that the price was going up to $85 (but can't seem to find the email).

Thank you for choosing the Westin St. John. We would like to offer you a brief summary of the experience you can expect upon your arrival in St. Thomas and during your transfer to the Westin Resort on St. John.

As you deboard the plane and enter the gates of the Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., please claim your luggage and proceed to the Westin Airport Lounge, located just beyond the baggage claim area. Our staff will be awaiting your arrival at the Lounge, where you will be checked in prior to boarding our taxi service to the Westin ferry. If the transportation costs are not already covered by a pre-paid package, the following roundtrip charges will be applied to your hotel bill (payment due upon check out):

We will be giving you your registration card, luggage tags for your bags & information on your transfer to the Westin on St. John. Please be sure to verify all the information on your registration card and provide your travel vouchers and/or a credit card for your stay. You may fill this information out while awaiting the arrival of your luggage on the carousel. Once you have received all of your luggage, it will be tagged & set in the luggage holding area in front of the lounge. There may be a few minutes to wait while the resort agents are preparing for your transportation so please use this time to browse the airport shops or refresh yourself with a drink at the airport restaurant. You will then be driven 10 minutes away to the Crown Bay Marina, where you will board our high-speed ferry service to St. John.
This schedule is subject to change based upon flight arrivals:

ride will bring you to the Westin on St. John

Please use any additional time before the ferry departs to discover the growing number of shops, restaurants and Gourmet Deli lining the Crown Bay Marina. Be sure to rendezvous at the location noted on the map provided to you at our Lounge. The ferry ride will be approximately 45 minutes & will take you directly to the resort dock where you will be greeted island style, with a rum punch & a cold towel! Our Service Express staff will have your keys ready and escort you directly to your room or villa. Your luggage will be delivered by our staff shortly after you have settled into your room. Please remember that our check in time is 3 PM (4:00 pm for the villas). If you arrive earlier than 3PM and your room is not ready, our staff will direct you to our beach side dining area for lunch or to our health club, should you wish to change into some more relaxed, island wear…the beach is always waiting!

I have the same price increases on our reservation from last year. The Westin Ferry is a little more expensive but is SO worth it for the convenience. It's all taken care of from when you touch down to when you take off. If you're interested in shopping, the ticket to STT for the week is a bonus.
