We are at Lakeside Terrace this week and attended a sales presentation at Westin Riverfront here in Beaver Creek. It is a beautiful resort to say the least but being the frugal resale buyers we are we didn't buy. Here is what they offered us is case anyone is interested:

Cost $21,000 would get us 81,000 star options. They would retro in our SDO unit with 81,000 star options. they also would give us 80,000 spg points and make us gold spg members for life. We didn't even get to the maint fees since they could tell we weren't going to bite.

Oh and we got 10,000 spg points for attending the presentation which was very low pressure and not a bad use of time since the snow up here is not that great and I wanted to see what the inside of the units there looked like.

Where were they selling you a week for $21,000 with 81,000 SO's? Was it a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom? What season? Where they trying to sell you a SVV Bella or Key West, just curious what they were offering.

It wasn't either of the ones you mentioned but I cannot remember which one it was. I will see if my husband remembers.

What did you think of Lakeside Terrace, and how are you doing with the cold weather?

The other resort they are pushing is Westin Lagunamar in Cancun, but the SVV resorts are always the closets ones to the $20,000 threshold for a retro/requalify of another property.

Actually it was Cancun that they were trying to sell us.

Cindy,
I posted a review on Lakeside Terrace on TUG reviews so you can see my more lengthy review. Overall the timeshare is nice. Not what I would expect of a Starwood but the units are large and the furnishings are nice, a little beat up but not bad for a ski resort. The weather is nice the snow is not very good but we are having a blast and love Beaver Creak. I think we are a little spoiled because we are used to the Ridge Tahoe where we own and the units are nicer, have fantastic views and are ski and ski out. However this place gives us free acess to the Rec center across the street that has huge indoor pools and slides which is great for the kids especially with the skiing not being that great. I would recommned this place, I just would not go there expecting a Starwood experience but definitelty great for families and large groups since the units are large. I would be happy to answer any other specific questions about the timeshare you may have and read my review. Colorado is beautiful and we will definitely be back.
